SYSTRA bags Simulation study contract for designing of ECS and TVS system for Patna Metro’s corridor 1 & 2

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has recently issued Letter of Acceptance (LOA) to M/s SYSTRA MVA Consulting (India) Pvt. Ltd. at the total cost of INR 79.65 Lakhs.

In August this year, the DMRC had invited online open e-tenders for the work ‘Contract PEDD-02: Simulation study for designing of ECS and TVS system for underground section of Danapur – Khemni Chak (Corridor -1) and Patna Railway Station – New ISBT (Corridor -2) of Patna Metro Rail Project’.

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has been entrusted to implement the following two corridors of Patna Metro Rail Project based on deposit terms.

According to the tender document, Simulation study work shall include but is not limited to following:  

  • Simulation Consultant shall carry out following Simulation analysis: – 
    • Development of single line diagram (schematic) for SES/IDA analysis. 
    • Assembly of final input data and assumptions. 
    • Simulations for various normal operating scenarios. 
    • Evaluation of heat gains for station under normal operation.
    • Determination of average tunnel and platform air temperatures under normal operation. 
    • Determination peak and average platform velocities under normal operation. 
    • Pressure transient analysis. 
    • Congested analysis for all station-to-station tunnel sections. 
    • Emergency analysis of all tunnel sections. 
    • Operational mode table. 
    • Stratified temperature analysis for a train stopped in tunnel. 
    • Sensitivity analysis with one cross-passageway door open in case of emergency. 
  • Simulation Consultant shall prepare the report which shall include minimum of following: 
    • Design Criteria 
    • Input 
    • Modelling Concept 
    • Simulation Scenario 
    • Output of Simulation 
    • Interpretation of results 
    • Conclusion 
  • The Simulation Consultant shall also provide soft copy of the model prepared for simulation study. 
  • Simulation Consultant shall be available for interactions for explanation of design basis, codes followed, reports and calculations performed using presentations, handout, etc. Consultant shall attend meetings during the design stage connected with the work whenever required. 
  • The relevant calculations including soft copies of simulation results shall be submitted for the review with respective design submissions and shall incorporate changes in report/simulation modelling resulting from reviews / comments by DMRC.
  • The simulation consultant shall undertake not to use information gained in execution of the contract for any purpose without obtaining prior approval of DMRC and shall not make any public announcement or divulge any material relating to the project either in India or overseas without prior written consent of DMRC. 
  • Simulation studies shall be explained to DMRC engineers. The simulation consultant shall provide one week training for the design under the scope of this tender. The training can be provided either in person or through video conferencing, as mutually decided.
  • The Simulation Consultant shall study and take guidance from all the available information including those made available during design e.g. DPR of Patna Metro and drawings issued or made available to it in the scope of services to carry out all necessary analysis, and request any further information or data which is necessary for its design development from the Employer’s Representative which will be provided if available. Any data, information, standards not available with the Employer shall have to be collected by the Simulation Consultant at their own cost.
