Tata Consulting Engineers JV bags Project Management Consultancy contract for Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail project

Financial bids for the work ‘Project Management Consultancy Services for the Construction of Civil Works Packages for Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail (MAHSR) Project’ were opened on 22nd March, 2021. 

  • This includes supervision of all 13 civil works packages including Viaducts, Concrete/Steel bridges, Tunnels (Undersea & Mountain tunnels), Civil work of all 12 stations, Maintenance depots, and Training Institute building.
  • Joint Venture of Tata Consulting Engineers Limited, Consulting Engineers Group Ltd., Aarvee Associates Architects Engineers & Consultants Private Limited, PADECO Co. Ltd. has quoted the lowest bid for an amount of INR 1111 Cr. and the tenure of the contract is 96 Months.

Following two consortium/Joint venture companies were qualified in the technical bid evaluation:

  1. Nippon Koei Co. Ltd., Oriental Consultants Global Co. Ltd., RITES Ltd. Consortium
  2. Joint Venture of Tata Consulting Engineers Limited, Consulting Engineers Group Ltd., Aarvee Associates Architects Engineers & Consultants Private Limited, PADECO Co. Ltd.

Recent Awarded Contract:

Meanwhile, the National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has recently  issued a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) to M/s. Satellite Informatics Pvt. Ltd. for Supply of Survey Team for Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Railway Project for working in Vadodara, Kheda and Anand districts of Gujarat State.

Scope of Work: 

  • The scope of work inter alia includes provisioning of 01 (One) Survey Team for 36 (Thirty-Six) months under Vadodara CPM office with a provision of further extension of 24 (Twenty-Four) months on existing terms & conditions to be mutually agreed by both sides. 
  • The teams shall undertake Cadastral Survey, DGPS Survey, Topography & detailed Survey, Traversing, levelling, Control pillar & central pillar fixing and checking work etc. with DGPS, Total Station, Digital level etc. 
  • Surveying instruments including planning, mapping, DGPS network triangulation to establishment of control points, georeferencing, pre & post processing data analysis & plotting using latest softwares etc. under CPMs (Chief Project Manager) Nadodara.
  • This survey team will also assist CPM’s in checking the permanent works being executed by CPM’s at site from time to time. 
  • This team at any given point of time shall consist of a minimum of 02 (Two) Surveyors along with 02 (Two) survey Assistants and 02 (Two) survey helpers with experience as mentioned in para 2.1 of Employer’s requirement for carrying out the survey task along with all survey equipment and accessories to do Survey works as instructed by NHSRCL representative. 
  • The Contractor shall use the latest state of art and duly calibrated Survey equipment of Trimble make or similar along with all other same make accessories required for the survey as mentioned in para 3 of Employer’s requirement. 
  • The contractor shall submit a calibration certificate of all survey instruments from the manufacturer or his authorized service agent for every six month or whenever required by NHSRCL representative for precise work during the period of contract. 
  • At the time of team mobilisation, the date of calibration certificate shall not be earlier than 01 month from the date of start of work and calibration certificate to be valid for six months. 
  • The Contractor shall report to the client on day-to-day basis and shall provide the necessary supervision & assistance from the back-office on and as-need basis in regards to post processing of data and preparation of AutoCAD drawings in duly format as required by NHSRCL. 
  • The Contractor is also required to develop and process the survey data in standard AutoCAD drawing form and submit it to NHSRCL representatives on a daily basis along with proper records in hard as well as soft copies. 

About Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor:

The first High Speed Rail corridor to be implemented in the Country, with technical and financial assistance of the Government of Japan, has been identified from Mumbai to Ahmedabad. With a total twelve stations in the States of Maharashtra, Gujarat and Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, the corridor will have a length of 508.17 Km. 

  • High speed rail will cover 155.76 kms in the state of Maharashtra (7.04 Kms in Mumbai sub-urban, 39.66 kms in Thane district & 109.06 kms in Palghar district), 4.3 kms in union territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and 348.04 kms in the state of Gujarat.
  • High speed rail will cover a total 12 stations namely Mumbai, Thane, Virar, Boisar, (in Maharashtra), Vapi, Bilimora, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Anand, Ahmedabad and Sabarmati (in Gujarat). 
  • Where a limited stop (in Surat & Vadodara) service will cover this distance in 1 hr. and 58 mins and all stops service will take 2 hr. 57 min to cover this distance.
  • High speed rail will be operating at a speed of 320 Km/hr at an elevated (10 to 15 m) track above the ground on a viaduct all along except 26 kms in Mumbai, which will be underground. 
  • All stations will be elevated except Bandra Kurla Complex station (Mumbai), which will be underground.
