IRCON awards signalling contract to Kiran Infra Engineers for Shivpur-Kathutia rail section

In a significant move to enhance the signalling infrastructure in Dhanbad division of East Central Railways, IRCON has awarded a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) to M/s Kiran Infra Engineers Ltd. for electronic interlocking based signalling system work at various railway stations in connection with Shivpur-Kathutia rail section, aims to improve operational efficiency and safety, representing a major upgrade in the region’s railway signalling capabilities.

  • Name of Work: Design, supply, installation, testing & commissioning of electronic interlocking based signalling system at Kathautia, Shahpur, Duari and Kharika station in connection with Shivpur-Kathutia new BG track with electrification in Dhanbad division of East Central Railways in the state of Jharkhand, India.
  • Completion Period for the Contract is: 12 Months
  • The Awarded Value of the Tender is: Rs. 39,41,84,303.74/-

Scope of Work under Contract:

  • The work includes Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of Indoor and outdoor work EI system at Kathautia, Shahpur, Duari and Kharika station in connection with Shivpur-Kathutia New BG track with electrification in Dhanbad division of East Central Railways in the state of Jharkhand, India.
  • Including design and drawing, Supply of outdoor cables MSDAC, HASSDAC, IPS, Data loggers, CT Rack, Relay Rack, Relays, ELD, Fire alarm system etc., for commissioning of Kathautia, Shahpur, Duari and Kharika station as per enclosed yard layout in Drawing section.
  • It also includes outdoor work like Trenching, Cable laying, termination of cables, Earthlings, Track Vacancy Detection, Point machines, Signals, Location boxes, MSDAC with clamp type fixing arrangement for Detection Point etc. Work will be carried out and commissioned as per approved SIP.

The move by IRCON to award a signalling contract to Kiran Infra Engineers is in line with the vision and mission of Indian Railways to upgrade and modernise the signalling systems across the country in order to enhance the safety, efficiency and reliability of the railway operations and ensure seamless journeys for the passengers.
