Lucknow Metro’s all 21 stations of N-S corridor certified by IGBC’s highest rating “platinum”

Indian Green Building Council facilitated Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation for their contribution in extending the Green Building movement by getting all 21 station of N-S corridor certified by IGBC’s highest rating “platinum” in a ceremony held at Hyderabad.

The Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) has certified LMRC as a ‘Green Metro Rail System’, by awarding platinum certificates to all the 21 metro stations in the month of may 2019

LMRC’s Environment officer, Mr. Chetan Tyagi along with Mr. Surendra Gupta, DGM, Electrical received the award on behalf of the organization during the event.

Lucknow Metro’s stations are green building certified stations having world class features along with special features to safeguard environment. Special focus has been given to energy conservation, water conservation and horticulture.

On this occasion, appreciating and congratulating LMRCs green initiatives, Shri Kumar Keshav, Managing director, LMRC said that, this excellent achievement of LMRC will encourage other Metro Rail Systems in the Country go the green way and in the process facilitate in building a greener and healthier India. In addition to this, Shri. Keshav also emphasized to explore more options to use solar energy and water conservation. The company is also in a way to use this green building concept in Kanpur and Agra Metro.
