Bangalore Metro plans to extend metro connectivity in four corridors: Tender invited for Feasibility Study Report

In a significant move to extend metro connectivity in the city, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has invited a tender for Preparation of Feasibility Study Report through two packages for the Four Corridors.

Information about Both Packages:

Package-1: Preparation of Feasibility Study Report for extension of Bangalore Metro Rail Corridors for a length of 50.00 km (approx.) in three corridors viz. Challaghatta to Bidadi, Silk Institute to Harohalli & Bommasandra to Attibele.

Package-2: Preparation of Feasibility Study Report for extension of Bangalore Metro Rail Corridors for a length of 68.00 km (approx.) in one corridor viz. Kalena Agrahara (Gottigere) – Jigani – Anekal – Attibele – Sarjapura – Varthur – Kadugodi Tree Park.

Introduction:

  • The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) is a Joint Venture Enterprise of Government of India and Government of Karnataka, entrusted with the responsibility of implementation of Bangalore Metro Rail project.
  • The Phase-1 of the project which is already under operation consists of 42.3 km with 40 stations. The East West Corridor is for a length of 18.2 km and North South Corridor is for a length of 24.1 Km. Both the corridors include an underground section of total length 8.80 Km and has seven stations including the interchange station at Majestic.
  • The Phase-2 of Bangalore Metro Rail Project consists of Four Extensions to the existing lines and Two New Lines with a total length of 72.095 km with 61 stations (49 Elevated and 12 Underground) of which 27.36 Km is under operation and balance is under construction.
  • The Phase-2A of Bangalore Metro Rail Project i.e. ORR line with a total length of 19.75 km with 13 Elevated stations and Phase -2B i.e. Airport line with a total length of 38.44 km with 17 Elevated stations is under construction.

Eligibility:

The Consultancy experience criteria requirements are given below:

The consultant must have successfully completed/substantially completed at least One Consultancy contract of Similar nature within the last 7 years ending date of bid submission either as a single entity or as a JV member, where the length of alignment in Consultancy contract of Similar nature shall not be less than 40 km route length, or

The consultant must have successfully completed/substantially completed at least Two Consultancy contracts of *Similar nature within the last 7 years ending date of bid submission either as a single entity or as a JV member, where the length of alignment in each Consultancy contract of Similar nature shall not be less than 25 km route length.

  • Similar nature consultancy contract means Consultancy services for the preparation of DPR/ Feasibility studies for major Infrastructure Projects such as Mono/Metro/Metro Lite/ Metro Neo/Railways.
  • Bidders in his name should have in the last five years (2018-19 to 2022-23) achieved in at least any two financial years a minimum annual financial turnover from Engineering Consultancy Contracts ≥ INR. 10 Crores.
