Bullet Train project gets a further push as NHSRCL completes Dhadhar river bridge

The Dhadhar River bridge, a crucial component of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project, has been successfully completed. Constructed by the National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), this bridge exemplifies superior engineering capabilities and thorough planning, reflecting India’s progress towards a world-class high-speed rail system.

A significant milestone has been achieved in India’s ambitious Bullet Train project with the completion of the Dhadhar River bridge in Vadodara district, Gujarat by the National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited. This bridge is a crucial link between Bharuch and Vadodara bullet train stations, standing as a testament to engineering prowess and meticulous planning.

Salient Features of Dhadhar River Bridge are:

  • Length: 120 metres
  • Consists of 3 Full Span Girders (40 metres each)
  • Height of Piers – 16 m to 20 m
  • Circular piers of 4 m and 5 m diameter (4 Nos.)
  • This bridge is in between Bharuch and Vadodara bullet train station.

The Dhadhar River bridge is one of the 24 river bridges planned along the Bullet Train corridor, which stretches across Gujarat and Maharashtra. Of these, 20 bridges are located in Gujarat, while the remaining 4 are in Maharashtra.

In addition to the Dhadhar River bridge, the construction of seven other river bridges has already been completed:

  • Par River Bridge – 320 metres (Valsad district)
  • Purna River Bridge – 360 metres (Navsari district)
  • Mindhola River Bridge – 240 metres (Navsari district)
  • Ambika River Bridge – 200 metres (Navsari district)
  • Auranga River Bridge – 320 metres (Valsad district)
  • Venganiya River Bridge – 200 metres (Navsari district)
  • Mohar River Bridge – 160 metres (Kheda district)

The completion of Dhadhar river bridge by NHSRCL marks the completion of yet another important bridge to be constructed for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project. The milestone shows the commitment of NHSRCL to execute this complex project in a timely manner and gives the required momentum to this highly anticipated project.
