Cengrs geotechnica initiates geotechnical investigation for Gurugram Metro expansion

Cengrs Geotechnica Pvt. Ltd. has commenced the geotechnical investigation work for the Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation Limited (HMRTC)’s new metro line project. This metro line will create a vital link from Millennium City Centre to Sector 9 in Gurugram, marking a significant advancement in the region’s transportation infrastructure.

On 21st March, 2024 Cengrs Geotechnica Pvt. Ltd. has started the work of a geotechnical investigation for Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation Limited (HMRTC)’s metro line connecting Millennium City Centre to Sector 9, Gurgaon with a formal inauguration and a groundbreaking ceremony. Mr. S. D. Sharma, Principal Consultant, and Dr. Namrita Kalsi, Chief Architect of HMRTC inaugurated the part of the work.

Project in Brief: 

The 12.76 km elevated corridor shall have 13 stations. The scope of works include 130 boreholes to characterise the soils along the alignment. Cengrs started this geotechnical investigation on the right note to ensure the project’s success. The company secured the contract in the month of February, 2024 from HMRTC.

Significance:

The Gurugram Metro’s HUDA Cyber City Lines project holds immense significance as it bridges the gap between New and Old Gurugram, providing crucial connectivity to Indian Railway stations and laying the groundwork for future expansion towards the IGI airport. Additionally, it is poised to drive economic growth in the area.
