Central Railway commuters can now get information of live location of local trains through Yatri App

Central Railway commuters can now get information of live location of CR local trains o­n Yatri mobile application. A demonstration of this feature of the Yatri app was held in presence of Shri Anil Kumar Lahoti, General Manager, Central Railway at CSMT station o­n 13th July, 2022.

  • Shri Shalabh Goel, Divisional Railway Manager, Mumbai Division, Ms. Ity Pandey, Chief Commercial Manager (Passenger Services), Central Railway and other officials were present o­n the occasion.

The General Manager, Shri Anil Kumar Lahoti, while interacting with the Media said that the Yatri app is a useful tool for daily suburban passengers to get information about train running and for better planning of their journey. They can also get information about cancellation of trains or running of special trains especially during times of disruption of train services due to any other reasons or o­n account of mega blocks etc.

  • Live location tracking is an important feature of the Yatri- a mobile application that will help commuters in better planning of their journey and easier commute. GPS devices installed o­n all the suburban rakes and algorithm developed to get the real time location of local trains will enable users to view live train location o­n map and see the train symbol moving.
  • The data gets auto refreshed every 15 seconds and users can also click o­n the refresh button to get the updated live location of the train. The user will also get timely alerts regarding arrival of trains etc. This facility is available for passengers of Main line, Harbour line, Transharbour line and Belapur/Nerul-Kharkopar line trains.

The Other features of Yatri app include: 

  • Live updates,
  • Updated timetable of local trains,
  • Ticket fare details of suburban trains,
  • Planning of journey by entering source and destination stations,
  • Mail express train information like “Spot your train” and “PNR status” 
  • Viewing station wise amenities at stations over Mumbai Division, Central Railway, 
  • Railway and Medical Emergency Numbers,
  • Setting alerts o­n favourite trains and routes,
  • Contacting Railway emergency for SOS in o­ne tap,
  • Metro, Mono, Ferry and Bus Information and timetable,
  • Users feedback and suggestions.
  • The Yatri app is available o­n Android Play Store and Apple App Store.
