Central Railway‘s commitment to facilitating the automobile industry’s transportation needs is reflected in its outstanding performance during the current year from April to September 2023.

Central Railway transported 48,500 automobile cars in 485 rakes and generated Rs. 82.78 crore in revenue from April to 10th September 2023. With Business Development Units (BDUs) at both Zonal and Divisional levels actively engaged with local industries, offering flexible schemes and garnering increased interest in rail transport.
Automobile loading of 485 rakes and earnings of Rs. 82.78 crore as revenue have been registered for the period 1st April 2023 to 10th September 2023. A total of 48,500 Automobiles have been transported by Central Railway in the year 2022-23.
- The loading of automobiles for transportation have been done at Kalamboli on Mumbai Division, Ajni on Nagpur Division, Nashik Road on Bhusaval Division, Daund and Vilad on Solapur Division and Khadki, Chinchwad, Miraj and Loni on Pune Division.
- Automobile companies like M/s Mahindra & Mahindra, M/s Tata Motors M/s Maruti Udyog etc.are Top clients of Central Railway who regularly avail services of Railways for transportation of their vehicles.
Central Railway has loaded 485 rakes of Automobiles during the period 1st April 2023 to 10th September 2023 as against 407 rakes loaded during corresponding period last year i.e. 1st April 2022 to 10th September 2022, showing an increase of 19.16%.
The revenue earned on these loading has been Rs.82.78 crore for the period 1st April 2023 to 10th September 2023 as against Rs.61.81 crore for the corresponding period last year i.e. 1st April 2022 to 10th September 2022, showing an increase of 33.92%.
Division Wise Details:
Pune Division is at the forefront with a loading of 341 rakes during the period 1st April 2023 to 10th September 2023 as against 254 rakes loaded during corresponding period last year i.e. 1st April 2022 to 10th September 2022.
It is followed by Bhusawal Division with loading of 126 rakes during the period 1st April 2023 to 10th September 2023 as against 102 rakes loaded during corresponding period last year i.e. 1st April 2022 to 10th September 2022.
During 1st April 2023 to 10th September 2022, 8 Ambulances were transported from Pune. The dispatches of automobiles have been made to various parts of the country.
