Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has signed the contract with M/s ST Engineering Urban Solutions Limited for Platform Screen Doors System for two elevated sections of Corridor-3 and 5 of Phase-2 project.

In a move towards providing safe and comfortable journey for its commuters, Chennai Metro Rail Limited has signed the contract for provision of Platform Screen Doors System for two elevated sections of Corridor-3 (Sholinganallur Lake to Sipcot 2) & Corridor-5 (Grain Market to Elcot) of Phase-2 project with M/s ST Engineering Urban Solutions Ltd. for a value of INR 159.97 Crores.
The contract has been signed in the presence of Mr. M. A. Siddique I.A.S., MD, CMRL, the contract agreement was signed by Mr. Rajesh Chaturvedi, Director (Systems & Operations), CMRL and Ramaswamy Muthuraman, Vice President/Head PSD, Mobility (Rail & Road), ST Engineering Urban Solutions Ltd.
Works to be Executed:
- The scope of work involves provision of a half height Platform Screen Doors system for 36 elevated stations.
- Chennai Metro will be introducing half height platform screen doors for elevated station platforms to facilitate driverless train operations.
- This will augment passenger & operational safety.
- The works to be executed under the contract include design, manufacture, supply, verification, delivery, installation, testing, commissioning, training and providing technical support for a complete integrated Platform Screen Door System, including all control centre, platform, equipment room sub-systems and associated interfaces.
Mr. A. Sankaramurthi (Dy. Advisor S&T, CMRL), Mr. C. Murugamoorthy (Team Leader, General Consultant), other senior officials of CMRL and M/s ST Engineering Urban Solutions Ltd. were present during the occasion.
