In a strategic initiative to enhance passenger convenience, Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has introduced Metro Connect services, a last mile connectivity solution in collaboration with M/s Fastrack Cabs. This innovative service is now available at several IT Parks across Chennai, aiming to streamline transportation for city commuters by bridging the gap between their workplace and the nearest Metro Station.

The Metro Connect services, a last mile connectivity solution by CMRL has launched at several IT Parks across Chennai. This innovative solution helps to streamline transportation for city commuters by providing last mile connectivity services from their workplace to the nearest Metro Station.
CMRL has collaborated with M/s Fastrack Cabs to provide air-conditioned Tempo Travellers, accommodating 18 passengers. As part of another successful partnership, CMRL has tied up with Jayant Tech Park, located at Mount Poonamalle High Road, Nandambakkam, Chennai to provide Metro Connect Services.
The route covers approximately 5 KM each way, shuttling between Jayant Tech Park (Mount Poonamallee Road, Nandambakkam) and Arignar Anna Alandur Metro Station. With an estimated travel time of 15 to 20 minutes, subject to road traffic conditions, the service aims to bridge the connectivity gap.
The Metro Connect service from Jayant Tech Park was launched (18.01.2024) by Mr. S. Satheesh Prabhu, AGM (RS&O), CMRL in the presence of Mr. C. Ambigapathy, Managing Director of M/s Fastrack Cabs, and Mr. V. Balakrishnan, Senior Property Manager at Jayant Tech Park.
About the Metro Connect Service:
- The CMRL Metro Connect Service is air-conditioned Tempo Travellers, each accommodating 18 passengers. Operational from Monday to Friday, service timings are tentatively set from 07:30 AM to 10:30 AM in the morning and 05:30 PM to 08:30 PM in the evening, subject to adjustments based on demand.
How to Avail the Service:
- Commuters can access the Metro Connect Service through the CMRL Metro Connect tab within the FastTrack Cabs mobile application, available on both IOS and Android platforms. The cost for each ride is set at INR 35, making it a cost-effective and a convenient choice for daily travel.
