Chennai Metro signs agreement with M/s TATA Projects Limited for construction of five underground stations in Corridor-5 of Phase-II

Chennai Metro Rail Limited signed the contract agreement for Contract No. C5-CP06-UG-06 with M/s TATA Projects Limited for construction of Five (05) Underground Stations in Corridor-5 of Phase-II.

Chennai Metro Rail Limited issued Letter of Acceptance (LoA) to M/s TATA Projects Limited for Tender No. CMRL/CON/PHASE-II/CORR-5/CP06/UG06-RT01/2021 on 11.09.2023 for a value INR 1817.54 Crores (Including Provisional Sum & GST). This is a JICA funded tender.

  • The scope of work involves Construction of Five (05) Underground Stations at Kolathur Junction Metro, Srinivasa Nagar Metro, Villivakkam Metro (Near Sub-urban), Villivakkam Bus Terminus Metro and Villivakkam MTH Road Metro with Entry / Exit, Ventilation Shafts, Plumbing, Earthmat, Architectural Finishes & Signages Etc. including Twin Bored Tunnels from Kolathur Junction Retrieval Shaft to Villivakkam MTH Road Launching Shaft and Ramps with U – Section in Corridor-5 of CMRL Phase-II Project.

In the presence of Mr. M. A. Siddique, I.A.S Managing Director of CMRL, the Contract Agreement was signed by Mr. T. Archunan, IRSE – Director (Projects) on behalf of CMRL and Mr. Raman Kapil – Executive Vice President on behalf of M/s TATA Projects Limited.

Mr. T. Livingstone Eliazer, Chief General Manager (PP&D), Tmt. Rekha Prakash, Chief General Manager (PD), Thiru. D.Gurunath Reddy, Additional General Manager (CP), Officials from CMRL, GC & Contractor were present during the occasion.

With the award of UG06, CMRL has achieved the 100% completion of award of Civil & track contracts for Phase-II project comprising 116.1 km metro network in three corridors.
