Chennai Metro successfully completes casting of all precast elements for Corridor-4 of the Phase-2 project

A significant milestone has been achieved as Chennai Metro has completed the casting of all precast elements for Corridor 4 of the Phase 2 project, from Poonamallee By-pass to Porur. This includes 2,885 elements, such as U Girders, pier arms, portal beams, and pier caps, in 18 different types. The elements were cast at the M/s HCCKEC Consortium Limited facility in Kolappancheri.

Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has achieved a significant milestone in its Phase 2 project by completing the casting of all precast elements for Corridor 4, from Poonamallee By-pass to Porur. This accomplishment includes the production of 2,885 precast elements, such as U-Girders, pier arms, portal beams, and pier caps, spanning 18 different types.

Involvement of HEC-KEC Consortium:

The elements were cast at the M/s HCC-KEC Consortium Limited facility in Kolappancheri, marking a crucial step forward in the project’s progress. Impressively, the entire process was completed without any major incidents, and the staff involved in ensuring safety were honoured for their exemplary work.

Major Presence:

Mr. T Archunan, Director (Projects), CMRL, Mr. Sundaramoorthy, Project Director, M/s KEC and Mr. Kandasamy vice president KEC international along with senior officials of General consultants and CMRL, contractors were present during the occasion.

Conclusion:

The above achievement is a testament of Chennai Metro’s commitment to execute important projects for the rapid expansion of its Metro Network in a timely and safe manner ensuring minimum hurdles for the people and utmost satisfaction for all the stakeholders involved and thus setting new benchmarks in terms of reliable and efficient construction of Metro Projects.
