CRS to inspect and speed trial of newly laid doubling line between Bina-Kota-Guna soon

The work of doubling the rail line between Bina to Guna as part of RVNL’s Bina-Kota Double line project has reached the final stage. CRS Inspection and speed trial has been scheduled on December 23-24 followed by which the section will be commissioned. This double line will enable greater capacity enhancement with operational flexibility on the existing high-density single-line network and save a lot of time in the future. 

  • This will also enable planned maintenance of the tracks regularly due to the ease in getting caution and block for the maintenance of the rail track along the side. 
  • Despite the pandemic conditions, RVNL teams endeavored for steady completion of the project works.
  • The timeline of the completion of the Bina Guna double line section is as under:
    • Ashoknagar-Pilighat -25.7Km – December 2019 (following which the Covid pandemic hit the country)
    • Pilighat-Guna-19.5Km-December 2020
    • Ashoknagar-Orr-13 km July 2021
    • Bina-Kanjia-20 km-shortly being commissioned (December 2021)
    • Orr-Kanjia-42km-under fast progress

Salient features of the newly executed Bina-Kanjia-20 km double line section: 

  • There are 4 main stations on the Bina-Kanjia-20 km section viz. Bina, Mahdevkheri, Semarkhedi and Kanjia. 
  • There are 16 bridges, of which 1 is a major bridge, 12 minor bridges, and 3 ROAD-Under-Bridges. 
  • As part of the double line project, station redevelopment & re-modeling works were also undertaken. 
  • New passenger amenities and work facilitation remodeling were undertaken. State-of-the-art Signalling facilities with the advanced interlocking system are installed at Bina, Mahdevkheri, Semarkhedi and Kanjia stations. 
  • S&T work is being executed duly carrying out alteration in the existing system to commission Bina station with 409 routes, Mahadeokhedi station with 139 routes, Semarkhedi with 64 routes and Kanjiya station with 17 routes. 
  • Pre-Non-interlocked working has begun on 11th December 2021.
  • In Bina Kanjiya section 19.87 RKM electrified having 3 new Switching Stations at Bina, Mahadevkhedi and Samarkhedi, Switching station at Kanjiya is modified for the double line. 
  • Lighting arrangement done at all new platforms at Kanjiya and Samarkhedi Stations. 
  • The total length of the doubling of the Bina-Guna section is 118.37 km and out of this section, the doubling of the Guna to Orr section which is 58 kilometers has already been done in the last one and a half years only. 
  • Train operations have already started on this. 
  • With the brisk pace of work being done by RVNL, it is envisaged that the remaining section will be commissioned soon and trains will start operating on the Bina-Guna railway line.
