Hon’ble Minister Shri Amar Kumar Bauri flags off Malda Town–SMVT Bengaluru Amrit Bharat Express from Pakur Station

Shri Amar Kumar Bauri, Hon’ble Leader of Opposition, Jharkhand Legislative Assembly & MLA, along with Shri Aditya Prasad Sahu, Hon’ble Member of Parliament flagged off the Malda Town –SMVT Bengaluru Amrit Bharat Express from its newly inaugurated stoppage at Pakur station. The event was attended by Shri Sanjeev Kumar, Divisional Railway Manager/ Howrah and other dignitaries.

O­n the occasion, the Hon’ble dignitaries, Shri Amar Kumar Bauri and Shri Aditya Prakash Sahu expressed their thanks to the Hon’ble Prime Minister for the introduction of Amrit Bharat train in this region, which brings a new era of development with the improvement of transport facilities.

Malda Town – SMVT Bengaluru Amrit Bharat Express which was introduced by Hon’ble Prime Minister o­n 30th December 2023, has started its regular run from Malda Town w.e.f. 7.1.2024 & from SMVT Bengaluru w.e.f. 9.1.2024. For the convenience of the people of Jharkhand & better experience of passengers at Pakur area, Indian Railways has now arranged a stoppage of this train at Pakur station.

Pakur is well known for its stone quarries, which is an important input for all sorts of construction work. Stoppage of Amrit Bharat train at Pakur station will be very beneficial for workers, artisans, traders, entrepreneurs for to and fro movement at Pakur station. It will also boost the business development at Pakur and bring socio-economic development in the region.

Brief about Train:

  • 13434 Malda Town – SMVT Bengaluru Amrit Bharat Express (journey commencing o­n 14.1.2024) will stop at Pakur station w.e.f. 14.1.2024 and in opposite direction 13433 SMVT Bengaluru – Malda Town Amrit Bharat Express (journey commencing o­n 16.1.2024) will stop at Pakur station w.e.f. 18.1.2024. 13434 Malda Town – SMVT Bengaluru Amrit Bharat Express will arrive at Pakur station at 10:00 hrs. and start from Pakur at 10:02 hrs.
  • Whereas 13433 SMVT Bengaluru – Malda Town Amrit Bharat Express will arrive at Pakur station at 09:10 hrs. and start from there at 09:12 hrs. O­n their nominated days of run. This is a weekly service. 13434 Malda Town – SMVT Bengaluru leaving Malda Town station at 08:50 hrs. O­n every Sunday, to arrive at SMVT Bengaluru at 03:00 hrs. On Tuesday and in the opposite direction 13433 SMVT Bengaluru – Malda Town Amrit Bharat Express leaving SMVT Bengaluru at 13:50 hrs. On every Tuesday, to arrive at Malda Town at 11:00 hrs. o­n every Thursday.

Besides Pakur, this train also have stoppages at New Farakka, Rampurhat, Bolpur Shantiniketan, Barddhaman, Dankuni, Kharaghpur, Balasore, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Visakhapatnam, Rajamundry, Vijayawada, Nellore, Katpadi enroute in both the directions. This train will also stop at Andul, Belda, Jaleswar, Soro, Bhadrak, Khurda Road, Brahmapur, Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Tuni, Samalkot, Eluru, Tenali, Chirala, o­ngole, Gudur, Renigunta & Jolarpettei stations enroute.

This train is packed with various features for passengers, the details of which are as follows:

  • Utilisation of two WAP-5 Locomotives at the front and rear ends (push-pull configuration) to ensure efficient acceleration and to eliminate the need of switching the locomotive at stations, thereby reducing the travel time.
  • This Amrit Bharat Express consists of 21 all Non-AC coaches with 02 Second class cum luggage van (SLRD), 07 General seating coach (GS) and 12 Sleeper class coach (SCN).
  • These coaches have a sealed gangway to provide safe transition between coaches and to reduce noise and vibrations.
