Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi inaugurates electrification of Kurduwadi-Latur Road railway section and railway lines connecting Jalgaon to Bhusaval in Maharashtra

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated, dedicated to the nation and laid the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth about Rs 7500 crores in sectors like health, rail, road, oil and gas in Shirdi, Ahmednagar, Maharashtra.

The multiple development projects include Electrification of Kurduwadi-Latur Road railway section (186 Km); 3rd & 4th railway lines connecting Jalgaon to Bhusaval (24.46 km).

Maharashtra’s rail infra strengthened with electrification of Kurduwadi-Latur Road Rail Section, fostering a sustainable mode of transport with environment-friendly train operations, saving expenditure on diesel.

  • The Kurduwadi-Latur Road Rail Section, providing seamless train operations with increased speed and alternative routes to the busy Daund-Solapur-Kalaburagi-Wadi rail section.
  • Dedicated to the Nation, the 186 RKM project cost ₹237 Crores enabling faster, more efficient, and eco-friendly rail operations.

Maharashtra’s rail connectivity also boosted with the new 3rd & 4th rail lines between Jalgaon and Bhusaval. Easing congestion on Mumbai-Howrah route, the new line will enable efficient train operations and faster journey times.

  • The inauguration of the 3rd & 4th rail line between Jalgaon & Bhusaval features 39 bridges and 5 ROBs/RUBs in the total length of 24.46 km.
  • The 3rd and 4th rail line between Jalgaon and Bhusaval, spanning 24.46 km, has been inaugurated at a cost of Rs. 640 crore. This new addition will augment rail connectivity in Maharashtra and boost economic growth in the region.

The PM also recalled flagging off the Vande Bharat train connecting Mumbai and Shirdi and highlighted that the network of railways is continuously expanding in Maharashtra. He noted that movement on the Mumbai-Howrah rail route will become easier with the commencement of the third and fourth railway lines between Jalgaon and Bhusaval.
