Indore Metro Update: Tenders invited for supply of Standard Gauge Ballastless Track at Gandhinagar Depot

The Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MPMRCL) has invited e-tenders from reputed and experienced contractors for following Works:

Scope of Work:

The scope of work shall include but not limited to the following:

  • Supply of P. Way materials such as ballast, track fittings & fastenings, glued insulated joints, buffer stops, concrete sleepers for plain line and turnouts including third rail fixing arrangements etc. for the track construction except Rails, all types of turnouts with its fittings, special fastenings system for turnouts and ballastless track of Depot, which shall be supplied by the Employer. The contractor will make arrangements for mechanized handling and transportation of all materials (including the materials supplied by the Employer) to the site of work.
  • The fastening system to be procured and installed in the ballastless track shall comply with ‘Annexure-C2’ of “Procedure for Safety certification and Technical clearance of Metro system- December 2015” issued by RDSO and the fastening system shall have been approved by Ministry of Railways, Government of India as on date of opening of Tender.
  • The Track design shall conform to ‘Annexure C1’ of “Procedure for Safety certification and Technical clearance of Metro system-December 2015” enclosed as Annexure ‘12’ of ITT. The tenders design shall comply with these standards unless otherwise instructed by Employer.
  • Design of plinth / slab type track structure on viaduct, tunnel and providing for MSS where they are required to be provided.
  • The Track Structure and the fastening used shall be designed as to minimize the noise and vibration generated by the moving train on the track. The contractor shall interface with the concerned designated contractors, particularly the Rolling stock supplier, limit vehicle induced noise and ground.
  • Borne vibration in structures in the vicinity of Railway alignment to acceptable level, as per legal and statutory requirement of India. The Contractor shall spell out the codal, legal and statutory provisions in this regard and justify that the design proposed by them is in conformity with stipulations.
  • Special noise and vibration mitigation measures (Mass Spring System) will be provided at selected locations in underground sections as instructed by Employer. The typical drawings for such measures for a particular system (for reference / guidance) are enclosed in Tender drawings.
  • Survey of alignment of civil structure handed over by the civil contractor and submission of GFC drawings.
  • Setting-out final alignment.
  • Welding of UIC 60 IRS-T-12-2009, 880 grade rails and UIC 60, 1080 grade head hardened rails using the specified welding techniques.
  • Provision of shear connector, wherever missing or broken, between 1 st pour.
  • Laying of ballasted track and ballasted turnouts on PSC sleepers, ballastless plain track on reinforced concrete plinth/RCC slab and ballastless turnouts on RCC slab, installing track fastener system, rail expansion joints, glued insulated joints, turn-outs, derailing switches, buffer stops, level crossings, check rails etc. to the stipulated tolerances on the running lines, stabling lines, Depot and Workshop lines.
  • Testing of components and installation methods.
