For the benefit of the commuters, Metro Railway has taken a number of initiatives to enhance amenities in its premises.
More details:
- As a part of that endeavour, Metro Railway has commissioned another escalator from mezzanine to surface at Sovabazar – Sutanuti Metro station replacing the old one on 02nd July, 2022.
- This escalator has been equipped with energy-efficient VVVF drive which helps to reduce the energy consumption by upto 50%. Apart from that, this escalator has a unique feature that it can stop or move slowly during idle time.
- It is not only convenient for the common passengers but also for divyangjan, aged persons, ladies and children to use this heavy-duty escalator as more flat steps are added to it.
- This newly commissioned escalator will ensure smooth and quick movement of commuters at Sovabazar- Sutanuti station premises.
