Shri P. Uday Kumar Reddy, General Manager, Metro Railway inspected the Majerhat Station of Joka-Esplanade Corridor (Purple Line).

- Shri Reddy started the inspection of Majerhat station this morning where Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) officials explained to him the progress of works in recent time and their planning to complete all pending works within the stipulated deadline.
- Shri Reddy inspected the passenger interchanging points here with Majerhat station of Eastern Railway, Property Development Unit, platform level, proposed site of AFC-PC gates, viaduct etc. He also visited the Plot No. 34/1, Diamond Harbour Road, where an unauthorised structure has been delaying the completion of work of this station.
- After the inspection, Shri Reddy held a high-level meeting with senior Metro and RVNL officials where he instructed concerned officials to take help from the local authorities to remove this encroachment (happens to be a gym) on that land and complete the planned work there at the earliest.
- He has requested all the stakeholders to cooperate with the Metro authorities to complete all Metro projects in the city as early as possible. He has instructed the RVNL officials to take all out efforts to complete the work of Majerhat station before Puja, 2023. Once commissioned Majerhat Metro station will be catering to thousands of people in and around Kolkata,he added.
- Reviewing the Majerhat Metro work, the General Manager expressed his satisfaction and advised all to adhere to the deadline.
