It’s a moment of immense pride for Lucknow Metro as it touched the cumulative ridership figure of 4 crore and 4 Lakhs in just 4 years and 4 Months making it a proud moment for everyone associated with Lucknow Metro.
- This important achievement is also special because since its commencement of services on 5th September, 2017 on the 8.5 km long ‘Priority Section’ from ‘Charbagh to Transport Nagar’, Metro continues to win the hearts of Lucknowites becoming an integral part of their day to day life.
- In spite of the third wave of Covid-19, Lucknow Metro crossed the figure of 54 Lakhs passengers in just 4 months since October 2021.
- In the wake of the second wave of Covid-19, a surge in ridership figures was seen after the resumption of the services on 9th June, 2021.
- After the lockdown due to Covid, Lucknow Metro has also set a new record by making the fastest ridership recovery in the entire country.
- In order to give the passengers a comfortable, pleasant and convenient ride, the Uttar Pradesh Metro has made significant changes in the way of traditional public transport.
- The Lost and Found Cell of Lucknow Metro has so far returned about Rs 11,60,000 in cash, 413 mobile phones and 72 laptops to the passengers safely.
- The title of the country’s first metro to sanitize the Trains and tokens with ultraviolet rays is also with the Lucknow Metro.
- At present keeping in view of Covid-19, Lucknow Metro is taking every possible step to ensure a safe metro journey to the public while ensuring best sanitisation measures and physical distancing inside both metro premises and trains.
- Lucknow Metro is the first Metro of the country to use ultraviolet rays for the sanitization of Trains and Tokens.
On this remarkable achievement, Shri Kumar Keshav, MD, UPMRC congratulated the entire team of Lucknow Metro & said,”I thank the people of Lucknow for their love, faith and support since its inception and I assure you that Lucknow Metro will keep providing its world class services to the public in future also. On this historic feat of reaching 4 crore and 4 Lakhs ridership figure he said everyone can travel through this urban public transport system no matter you are differently abled, child, women or senior citizen”.
