Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has taken a significant step by inviting tenders for Construction of Depot Infrastructures for CAR Depot at Dongri for Metro Line-9 of Mumbai Metro Rail Project.

Name of the Work: Depot land development works and Construction of Depot Infrastructures Comprising Stabling Yard, Operation Control Centre, Depot Control Centre, Administrative Building, Maintenance and Inspection buildings, Auxiliary substation, Road, underground utility duct, Drainage System and Rainwater Harvesting etc. complete (including Architectural Finishing ,Plumbing and PEB Works) for CAR Depot at Dongri for Metro Line-9 of Mumbai Metro Rail Project of MMRDA.

Objective:
The objective of the contract is the land development works for proposed Depot for Metro Line-9 at Dongri including cutting, filling, preparatory works, tree transplantation and soil by the contractor, removal of the temporary works and the rectification of defects appearing in Permanent Works in the manner and to the standards and within the time stipulated by the Contract. In full recognition of this objective, and with full acceptance of the obligations, liabilities and risks which may be involved, the Contractor shall undertake the execution of the Works.
Scope of Works:
Earth Work:
- Earthwork is filling in the embankment from the area of Metro Rail Depot Line 9 situated at Dongri.
- Earthwork in cutting all kinds of soil including boulders in formation & finishing to required dimension and slopes to obtain a neat appearance to standard profile.
- Excavation in all types of rocks by controlled blasting, by control blasting methods including control of vibrations by use of delay detonators and control of fly rocks by muffling arrangements.
- Excavation in all types of rocks with hammer / chisel / pavement breaker etc. where blasting is not permitted due to special circumstances.
- Breaking of selected boulders/rubble stone available on site to 300 mm to 200 mm or other sizes as per Design/Site requirement.
- Rock filling for area and density requirements for each layer as per cross-section and specifications.
- Testing of rockfill
- Instrumentation on rockfill
- Dewatering (with proper permits by the local authorities).
- Temporary Drainage works during execution.
- Deployment of CIMFR (Central Institute for Mining and Fuel Research) Dhanbad, as a consultant for blasting works.
- Providing and laying of blanketing material as per latest RDSO norms.
- Providing and laying Track ballast as per latest RDSO norms.
- Preparation of Track ballast with excavated rock.
- Providing and fixing temporary signages during construction.
- Any other works as required at site.
Soil Stabilization and Allied Works:
- Stabilisation work (Depot Area – Inside and outside) at Filling End Portion.
- Stabilisation work (Depot Area – Inside and outside) at cutting Portion.
- Execution of work as per provided Grading plan of the area and drainage plan.
- Taking trial bores of various diameters and preparing detailed geotechnical reports.
- Tree Transplantation of existing trees of girth of all diameters.
- Stabilisation of excavated rock slopes with rock bolts and shotcreting.
- Stabilisation of rock filled end portions with RCC retaining walls (if required).
- Any other works as required at site.
Internal and External SWD (Drainage System):
- Excavation for drainage channels.
- Existing Channels reshaping & trimming.
- Any other works as required at site.
Eligibility:
Work Experience:
The tenderers will be qualified only if they have completed work(s) during last 7 (Seven) years ending last day of month previous to the one in which applications are invited as given below:
- At least one similar work of value of Rs. 591.60 Crores or more, or
- At least two similar works each of value of Rs. 369.75 Crores or more, or
- At least three similar works* each of value of Rs. 295.80 Crores or more.
Similar works means “Construction of MRTS or LRTS Depot Cum workshop or Railway Depot Cum workshop and allied Building Structure / any metro rail works ( Including Metro Station). Substantially completed means -Work completed more than 80% of the Agreement Value.
