MMRDA Update: FOB connecting Mumbai Metro’s line-7 and line-1 completed

MMRDA is integrating the Mumbai Metro network, FOB connecting two important metro lines has been completed in record time and around 340 metric tonnes of steel has been used.

  • MMRDA is Integrating Mumbai Metro Network. For that new FOB is ready to connect two Metro Lines.
  • This FOB will help the passengers to interchange Mumbai Metro Line-7 to Metro Line-1 and vis-a-vis.
  • The Foot Over Bridge (FOB) connects Metro Line -7 (Gundavali Station) and Metro Line-1 (Western Express Highway Station).

  • The total 58 meters long and 4 meter to 8 meters wide superstructure of FOB was completed in a record 15 days.
  • The total steel quantity used in this FOB is around 340 Metric Tonnes (MT) including reinforcement and structural steel. MMRDA constructed this FOB by overcoming hurdles like shifting of utility lines.
  • The junction near Gundavali Metro Station is very crowded, so this FOB will provide Mumbaikars hassle free interchangeable connectivity between two metro Line’s.

Shri S.V.R. Srinivas IAS, Hon’ble Metropolitan Commisioner, MMRDA said “The infrastructural work on phase- 2 of Metro Line -7 & Metro Line- 2A is Completed. Both the Metro Line will be in service for Mumbaikars soon after the CMRS inspection”.
