Mumbai Metro Line 2B Update: Mandale Depot construction moves at swift pace

Mandale Depot is an integral part of the 23.64 km long Mumbai Metro Line 2B, routed from D.N Nagar to Mandale.

More Details:

  • Mandale Depot is proposed in total 30 hectares of land which mainly comprises government land. Total 54% civil work of Mandale Depot is completed.
  • Mandale depo will have 72 stable lines along with important structures like Hazard Store Building, Heavy Wash Plant, UG Tank, DCC Admin Building, Central Store Building, Workshop, Inspection Building, C.M.V. Building, Receiving Substation (RSS), Test Track, ETP & STP Compound Wall, Security Watch Tower etc.

  • Dust mitigation system set up in Mandale Depot Air Quality (AAQ) and Noise Quality(NQ) level within the area of mandale depo is recorded under the Central Pollution Control Board standard limits as MMRDA is taking Mitigation Measures to control dust at site.
  • MMRDAs team sprinkling water at site to control the dust emission at source, using machinery and equipments which are designed for minimising air pollution, vehicles carrying loose excavated material were covered by tarpaulin, loose excavated material stacked in such a manner that minimizes dust emission, all excavated material disposed at designated places on regular basis etc.

Shri S.V.R. Srinivas IAS, Hon. Metropolitan Commissioner, MMRDA said “While carrying out construction work of the Mandale depot we are taking utmost care and following all the necessary norms. Our team periodically implements competency remediation plans. The aim is to complete the project on time and it is planned to complete the structural works soon.”
