Nagpur Metro expands horizons: Tender released for Phase-2 Elevated Metro Stations construction

In a significant stride towards bolstering Nagpur’s metro network, the Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL) has initiated the tender process for constructing Elevated Metro Stations in Phase-2 of the project.

Name of the Work: Construction of (A) Elevated Metro stations Seven nos in Reach 3A, namely (1) Hingna Mount View (2) Rajiv Nagar (3) Wanadongri, (4) APMC (5) Raipur (6) Hingna Bus station (7) Hingna, (B) Elevated Metro Stations: Three nos in Reach 4A, Namely (1) Pardi (2) Kapsi Khurd (3) Transport nagar of NMRP Phase-2.

Objective:

The objective of the contract is the construction, completion, testing and commissioning of the Permanent Works by the contractor (including without limitation, the design, construction and removal of the Temporary Works) and the rectification of defects appearing in Permanent Works in the manner and to the standards and within the time stipulated by the Contract. In full recognition of this objective, and with full acceptance of the obligations, liabilities and risks which may be involved, the Contractor shall undertake the execution of the Works.

Scope of Works:

The scope of work in brief is given below but the scope includes all other requirements stipulated in various parts/volumes of the contract document including appendices and annexure thereto. Entire scope of work shall be included in Schedule A, B, C, D, E, F and G (Schedules of BOQ) and described in Employer’s Requirements- Functional.

  • Construction of ten nos. of Elevated Metro Stations viz Hingna Mount View, Rajeev Nagar, Wanadongari, APMC, Raipur, Hingna bus station, Hingna (seven stations for Reach-3A) & Pardi, Kapsi Khurd, Transport Nagar (three stations for Reach-4A), is in part of scope of work in this contract. Tentative location of the Stations is being provided in the GAD.
  • Layout Plans of Station Entry Exit structures showing the land boundary, all structural and architectural finishing drawings for the permanent structures shall be furnished to the successful bidder by the Engineer for the scope of work under this contract.
  • Payment of the works under this section will be made under the relevant schedule of the BOQ. For the works for which payment is to be made on measurement basis, shall be executed and measured as per metric units given in the Schedule of Quantities, drawings etc.
  • A method statement regarding the construction in accordance with the specification mentioned in this contract, shall be submitted by the Contractor for approval of the Engineer, well in advance of the commencement of work.
  • The classification of various items of works for purposes of measurements and payments shall be as per Bills of Quantities (BOQ). Except where distinguished by BOQ, the rates apply to all heights, depths, leads, lifts, sizes, shapes and locations. They also cater for all cuts and wastes.
  • No height wise / floor wise separation shall be made for the rates. Likewise all heights of centering, shuttering, staging, formwork and scaffolding, launching trusses and other launching methods are covered by the quoted rates including multi stage propping for heights greater than one lift / floor as per drawings.
  • The work under this contract shall consist of, but not limited to all materials, labour, equipment, tools, plants and necessary machinery as required to completely execute all the works falling under the scope of this contract, shall be paid on item rate basis under relevant head of schedule of BOQ.
  • The cost for adopting the provisions laid under this chapter is deemed to be included in the rate quoted against the various schedules of BOQ.

Eligibility:

Minimum average annual turnover of INR 247 Crores within the last 5 (five) years. Last five years shall be (FY 2018-19, 19-20, 20-21, 21-22 & 22-23).

General Experience:

A minimum of Similar Work contracts specified below that have been satisfactorily completed as a prime contractor or joint venture member during last 7 (Seven) years reckoned from the last day of the month previous to the one in which the latest date of bid submission falls.

  • Should have completed Similar work costing not less than INR 247 Crores towards “Construction of minimum 8 Nos of Metro Rail Stations in a Single Contract”, or
  • Should have completed *Similar work costing not less than INR 154 Crores towards “Construction of minimum 5 Nos of Metro Rail Stations Stations in each of the Two Contracts”, or
  • Should have completed *Similar work costing not less than INR 124 Crores towards “Construction of minimum 4 Nos of Metro Rail Stations in each of Three Contracts”.
