Objective:

Delhi (SKK)-SNB RRTS Corridor: 1 st stage of this corridor originates from Sarai kale khan in Delhi and ends at Dharuhera in Haryana. The route length of the Delhi-Dharuhera RRTS corridor is 70.72 Km, out of which 48.35 km falls in Haryana, 22.37 km in Delhi. While almost the entire route length in Delhi is Underground, the route length in Haryana is mostly elevated except 16.28 Km underground.

An elevated portion of the RRTS corridor in Haryana state has been planned along NH 48 from Sector 25 to Rajiv chowk, Kherkidaula to Manesar and Panchgaon to Dharuhera. In this corridor one maintenance depot at Dharuhera (at grade) and a stabling facility at Manesar have been planned.

The details of the corridor along with Broad technical specifications are given below. These specifications and the alignment including location of stations may undergo some changes. The finalised specifications and the alignment shall be provided to the Consultant. The details of the corridor and broad system specifications are as under.

Scope of Works:

  • The scope of the work under this tender comprises of carrying out detailed Geo- Technical Investigation of underground and elevated section on RRTS alignment between Aerocity to Kherkidaula and RRTS Depot at Dharuhera for SKK (Sarai Kale Khan)-Dharuhera Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) Corridor.
  • The exact chainages may undergo some changes during detailed engineering and the contractor will be required to take up the work as per the chainages advised by NCRTC. The work site for the scope of work in this tender falls in the State of Delhi and Haryana.
  • Most of the alignment is on the left/right of the NH 48 and the geo- technical investigations are required to be carried out along the centre line of RRTS alignment or within 25 mts. left / right from the centre line of RRTS alignment. The investigations are to be done in an efficient manner so as to cause least disturbance to the traffic. Where RRTS alignment crosses river/ streams/Pond/major road crossings/flyover etc.
  • At such locations, the contractor may be required to deploy special plant and machinery/tools and take special methods, if required, for carrying out the geo-technical investigations and the cost of such plant /machinery /method /special care shall be deemed to be included in the quoted/accepted rates for various items and nothing extra shall be payable to the contractor for the same.
  • NCRTC has already engaged a detailed design consultant for the detailed design of the RRTS corridor. The details of the above consultant shall be provided to the contractor. The contractor shall be required to constantly interact with the consultant regarding the geo-technical investigation carried out and will be required to provide necessary clarifications, wherever required.
  • In addition to NCRTC engineers, the work of the contractor shall also be supervised by the engineer of the above consultant. The contractor shall  extend full cooperation to the Consultant’s engineer in supervision of the works being executed by the Contractor.
  • The geo-technical investigations are to be done at the location as advised by the employer. KMZ file of RRTS route alignment shall be provided by the employer to the contractor for the purpose of locating the bore hole locations at site by the contractor.

Activities to be performed under geo-technical investigation are as follows:

  • Drilling bore holes up to a maximum depth of 5 metres in intact Hard Rock (RQD >50%) or 10 m in weathered rock (RQD up to 50%) or 50 metres in soil (up to N=100) using hydraulic / calyx rig by wash boring method as per the directions of Engineer-in-charge and as detailed in Technical Specifications and Schedule.
  • Conducting Standard Penetration Tests in boreholes at regular intervals as per I.S. Code of practice and also in-situ tests as per Schedule.
  • Collecting undisturbed soil samples from bore holes at every change of strata subject to a minimum of two per borehole as per I.S. Code of practice.
  • Recording of water table level in the boreholes after completion of boring.
  • Conducting in-situ permeability tests in Rocky strata and tests in labs in all other types of soils.
  • Collecting rock core samples from bore holes and recording the RQD.
  • Conducting Plate Load Test (PLT) in various locations as per IS 1888 & specifications and as directed by the engineer -in -charge, plotting of load intensity versus settlement curve, complete test in all respects.
  • Conduct all necessary laboratory tests on samples collected as per Schedule and Technical Specifications.
  • Survey of bore holes (X,Y,Z GPS coordinates) for elevation and plotting of bore hole locations in alignment plan.
  • Preparation of report summarising the details of soil/rock classifications, analysis of test data and recommending the type of foundations to be adopted with design calculations for the proposed Elevated corridor duly highlighting the design criteria and design methodology and different groups of soil strata encountered.
