Shri Vinay Kumar Singh, Managing Director, NCRTC delivers the Keynote address at the 4th Rail Analysis Innovation & Excellence Summit 2023

Shri Vinay Kumar Singh, Managing Director, NCRTC, delivered the Keynote Address at the recently held 4th Rail Analysis Innovation & Excellence Summit 2023 in New Delhi.

On 31st January, 2023, Rail Analysis Team successfully concluded its 4th Edition of Rail Analysis Innovation & Excellence Summit 2023 with enhanced participation from Industry Leaders and Decision makers. This event is organised annually with the objective to bring together India’s largest Railway and Metro Industry leaders, companies and associates on one common platform to share the latest Innovation and Excellence in the sector along with the technologies and get the most prestigious recognition for their performance, ideas and achievements. The event in its fourth edition was organised on 31st January, 2023 at Hotel Le Méridien in New Delhi, India. 

Highlights of Keynote Address:  

  • Shri Singh shared his views on how Innovation and Excellence has been at the core of NCRTC’s approach to bring in several new-age technological solutions, including many firsts for the industry and the country.
  • He shared insights on various aspects of the RRTS project and its role for balanced & sustainable development. This included initiatives being taken for seamless multi-modal-integration giving impetus to Hon’ble PM’s visionary ‘National Gati Shakti Master Plan’, future-ready system technologies, focus on commuter-centricity, capacity building for rail & infrastructure industry, and innovative partnerships with private sector for operational efficiency.
  • He mentioned that with the country’s first RRTS project, they have focused on bringing in a transformative mobility solution filling the gap of an efficient regional commute, which will ultimately benefit the commuters. Further, They we are working steadfastly towards realizing the dream of a New India. 
  • They are also focused on decentralising the economic importance of major cities and create smaller centres of economic activity around big metropolitan cities and achieve a balance. This decentralisation of economic activity will help in controlling the requirement of infrastructure in the major cities, help in proper planning and maintaining the environment. Hence on a long term basis their focus is towards Sustainable development.

  • This effort is to connect cities around Delhi which are around 200-200 km from Delhi and reduce travelling time down to 60-70 minutes.
  • In the first corridor- Delhi to Meerut, They are using technology which is future-proof. Their choice of technology along with the focus on Make in India will ensure very safe trains along with the best in class comfort.  
  • All of the trains are being manufactured in Gujarat, India. 
  • The Summit witnessed the participation of industry representatives and technology experts in large numbers.

About Delhi-Meerut RRTS Project:

  • The Delhi-Meerut RRTS corridor is approximately 82 km long corridor with 25 stations, which will cover the distance from Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi to Modipuram in Meerut in about 60 minutes (Currently, it takes around 3 hours to commute from Delhi to Meerut).
  • The total project completion cost of Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor is about INR 30274 Crore.
  • RRTS is a rail based high-speed transit system with a design speed of 180 kmph and an average speed of 100 kmph.
  • Once operational, it will be the fastest, most comfortable and safest mode of commuter transport in NCR.
