Patna Metro Update: Shri Daljeet Singh, Director (Works), DMRC inspects various sites of Patna Metro Rail Project

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC) Director (Works), Shri Daljeet Singh inspected all the sites of Patna Metro Rail Project. The purpose behind the inspection of construction sites from time to time is to ensure safe and adequate execution of work along with pushing the work.

  • Shri Daljeet Singh, Director (Works) of DMRC inspected all sites of Patna Metro Rail Project, like reviewed the drains cleaning work of the drain towards the north side of NH-30, reviewed quality of constructions, safety issues and progress of construction work and Tunneling drive started with Second Tunnel Boring Machine.
  • In view of forthcoming monsoon, he reviewed the drain cleaning work of the drain towards the north side of NH-30 and also reviewed progress of Monsoon management works.

  • He instructed to take necessary actions for upkeep of drainage systems in the Metro construction sites and the drains and also instructed to clean public drains in and sites to ensure better drainage systems than before.
  • He also instructed to organise barricades near all construction sites, increased visibility of safety instructions near sites for safety of common people and to avoid any mishap and also to maintain cleanliness near sites and barricades.
  • He inspected the construction work at Moin-ul-haq stadium underground station on Saturday. He reviewed the ongoing excavation work by tunnel boring machine (TBM) at Moin-ul-haq stadium.
  • It may be noted that the tunnelling work at Moin-ul-haq stadium is in full swing. The first tunnel boring machine has completed nearly 40 km of excavation with lining in speed and the second tunnel boring machine has started tunnelling drive.

  • Since this is initial phase, in view of soil quality of Patna, it has been critical to maintain a balance between excavation sites and the tunnel boring machine but with long experience of Shri Daljeet Singh of several metro projects, under his directions the officials of Patna Metro Rail Project are trying to complete the tunnelling work with utmost precautions.
  • During his three days inspection visit, he visited Casting Yards of all construction sites, all underground and elevated station sites except Patliputra ISBT Terminal Depot namely Akashwani, Gandhi Maidan, Khemnichak, Malahi Pakari, Bhutnath Road, Zero Mile, Ramkrishna Nagar and Mithapur, where he reviewed progress and quality of the work and the safety measures.
  • It may be noted that 41 percent work has been completed in Priority Corridor-II. The Cross Arm Erection work has started at three stations of Priority Corridor namely ISBT, Khemnichak and Bhutnath Road and preparations are on for Cross Arm Erection at another station of Malahi Pakari.

  • He also enquired about the construction progress and future plans of the construction of the underground Metro Station at Moin-ul-haq stadium and also the progress of work at other construction sites. He instructed officials to expedite the Metro construction work.

Shri Daljit Singh, Director (Works) of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC) said that Metro is committed to timely and safe completion of work. In addition to quality work, Metro is committed to safety of Metro staff and workers and also safety of those living close to Metro construction sites with least inconvenience.
