Value Addition Of Tata Steel (NMB) In Railway Sector:
IndIan Railway has opted for Fiber Reinforced Composites (FRP) as ‘a material of choice for light-weighting of the coaches. FRP is being used for the interiors of AC coaches. which includes side panels. floor, roof sheet windows. seats and berths. AC trough, sandwich panel partitions lavatories etc, as well as for external mask (nose cone). Tata Steel Limited (NMB) has extended end to end solution far interior furnishing of Rallway coaches by offering in-house composite panels, seats, partitions, and managing the supply chain of bought out items and carrying out final installation at production site of Indlan Rallways.
Tata Steel has very recently become an approved source for Indian Railways to carry out entire interior furnishing on turnkey basis.
Vande Bharat (Semi High Speed Train Of India):
The Vande Bharat Expess is a self propelled Indian semi: high.speed, It is running as an inter city express. It is indigenously designed and manufactured under the “Make in India’ programme of Government of India. Vande Bharat Express is designed to be capable of running at a maximum speed of 160 kmph and it exceeded 180kmph during testing. As part of Teta Steel’s continuous endeavor to achieve excellence and bring high end products to its customers, Tata steel Limited (NMB) has created milestone by bagging a bulk order for supplying and installation for 23 trainsets (360 coaches) of complete seating systems of Vande Bharat express.
This is ‘first-in-India’ kind of a supply which will be executed over 12 months starting October 2022. The seats will have higher corrosion resistance and lower maintenance cost.
Tata steel (NIAB) has also come up to Indian Railway with complete solution of interior composite panels, which is durable, washable, non-corrosive and are expecting an order for FRP interior paneling of 16 trains. (256 coaches) of the Vande Bharat express. The offerings strictly conform to European standard of fire safety (EN 45545), anti – graffiti standards and will offer improved safety and comfort to passengers.
