RITES invites tenders for Overhauling of bogies of ALCO (WDS6) Locomotives

RITES Limited on behalf of SAIL/BSP/Bhilai has invited online item based rate bid on Single packet system through e-Tendering system for the work of “Overhauling of Cast steel bogies/ fabricated bogies of ALCO (WDS6) Locomotives.”

Scope of Work:

The scope of work to be done on each bogie is detailed below. All materials required for execution of this scope of work are to be supplied by contractor unless specifically stated in scope of work.

Procedure for Undertaking the Work of Overhauling of Bogie Frames:

  • All materials required for execution of this scope of work are to be supplied by contractor unless specifically stated in scope of work. The contractor should use the Material purchased only from RDSO approved vendor as per the latest RDSO/DMW/DLW/CLW vendor directory, with inspection certificate from authorized agency as per the ‘category’ of item in vendor directory. 
  • The copy of the inspection certificate should be submitted to CPM/ RITES /Bhillai for verification.
  • The latest ROSO specification / maintenance instructions are to be followed wherever applicable.
  • Joint inspection with the firm and shed representative shall be done at Bhillai Steel Plant premises for deciding the parts of the brake rigging required to be changed during overhauling, before delivery of the bogie frame for undertaking overhauling.
  • Safe transportation of bogies from Steel Plant Bhillai to the firm’s premise & back to be done by the firm.
  • Joint inspection at firm premises after dismantling the brake rigging parts for checking the condition of the part of brake rigging which may be required to be changed during overhauling. The condemned parts of brake rigging are required to be damaged by gas cutting in presence of RITES representatives.
  • Overhauling of bogies after cleaning by the firm.
  • Stage inspection by the RITES representative at the firm’s premises may be done if desired by RITES during overhauling of the bogie. The firm has to incorporate a n y suggestions made during t h e stage inspections. Final inspection and testing of overhauled bogie frames braking system shall be done at the firm’s premise by external compressed a i r testing for ensuring free movement of the brake rigging. The firm shall offer all reasonable facilities for inspection and testing.
  • This joint inspection (final) report duly signed by the firm’s representative and Consignee’s representative for each lot of overhauled Bogie frames shall be sent to CPM/RITES/Bhillai before delivering the same. Joint inspection will also be done for warranty-failed Bogie frames.
  • The Bogie frames once collected from the shed premises will be deemed repairable.
  • Bogie with brake riggings will be handed over to the firm for overhauling and assembly of brake rigging on the overhauled bogie.
  • Proper arrangement for safe transportation of overhauled bogies from firm’s premises to Steel Plant Bhilai should be arranged by the firm. The required jig and fixture for the safe transportation of bogies on the truck should be developed by the firm.
