RVNL announces tender for MMTS Phase-2 extension on South Central Railway

In a significant move to enhance rail connectivity over the zone, Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has floated a tender for Construction of roadbed, bridges and Track Linking for extension of MMTS Phase-2 Project of South Central Railway.

Brief about Tender Submission:

Name of the Work: Construction of roadbed, major and minor bridges and Track Linking (Excluding supply of Rails and Sleepers) in connection with extension of MMTS Phase-2 from Ghatkesar (Km. 213.840) (Including) To Wangapalli (Including) (Km. 252.300) on Secunderabad – Kazipet Section of Secunderabad Division of South Central Railway, Telangana State, India (38.46 Km).

Project Significance: 

MMTS services in Hyderabad have gained popularity, and the completion of Phase-2 witnessed quadrupling between Moulali and Ghatkesar stations. This extension aims to further enhance connectivity in the region.

Stations Included: 

The proposed line between Ghatkesar and Wangapalli will have intermediate stations at Bibinagar, Pagidipalli, Bhongir, and Yadadri, catering to the growing transportation needs of the region.

Scope of Works:

  • The tendered work is part of the project for Extension of MMTS Phase-2 (Quadrupling) of existing railway line between Ghatkesar and Wangapalli of South Central Railway.
  • The works are located on the alignment between Ghatkesar and Wangapalli station on Secunderabad –Kazipet section of Secunderabad Division under South Central Railway and the details are given in the bid document.
  • The bridges and track are proposed parallel to the existing track with a track centre of 7.85m and 5.3m on the left/right side of existing lines.
  • This work on the full stretch of 15 Kms between Bhongir-Wangapalli stations can be started immediately as a major portion of land in this stretch is available for execution of work.
  • The scope of work includes earthwork in formation, bridge works (other steel works), bridge works (supply of steel items), and miscellaneous works other than steel items, transportation and launching of precast boxes, supply of cement and provision of site facility, Total track length of the proposed quadrupling is 2×38.525 = 77.05 Kilometres.

Eligibility Criteria:

Minimum average annual construction turnover in equivalent INR 298.90 Crores calculated as total certified payments received for contracts in progress or completed, within the last three financial years (refer note below the table).

General Experience:

Execution as contractor, or subcontractor, at least One contract with a value of at least INR 224.17 Crores that has been successfully or substantially completed within the last Seven years before the deadline for submission of the bids, and that is similar to the proposed work.
