Marking 19 years of Incorporation Day, Rail Vikas Nigam Limited held the Company’s 19th Anniversary Day on 24.01.2022. Commemorating the day, a virtual event was organized at the Corporate Office with PIUs units and staff of Corporate Office joining through the online mode.
- The Chairman & Managing Director, RVNL Shri Pradeep Gaur and the Board of Directors viz. Sh. Rajesh Prasad, Director (Operations), and Sh. Sanjeeb Kumar, Director (Finance) were present on the occasion at Corporate Office, New Delhi.
- Shri Rajesh Argal, Addl Member, Planning, Railway Board and Govt. Nominee Director, Shri Cyrus Pithawala, Independent Director, Shri Sreenivasa Murthy Rangaiah, Independent Directorand Dr. M. V. Natesan, Independent Director virtually.
- Shri Rajesh Prasad, Director, Operations walked-through the Company’s birth and evolution and its consistent performance, marked with progressive achievements and notable records both in project delivery and in financial performance.
- He highlighted the various landmark projects and building of momentum over the years to take on more challenging projects.
- RVNL has completed more than 13,000 kms of rail development projects with 108 significant project executions so far.
- The Company has achievement a project expenditure of One Trillion INR (1 lakh crore) project expenditure as on 17th January 2021.
- It has also persevered to complete 25 Km tunneling in the most complex geology on the Rishikesh-Karnaprayag new rail line project.
- Following which, the other sequent events include Unveiling of Coffee Table Book titled *Electric Traction for growth of North East* by Shri Cyrus Pithawala, Independent Director followed by the launch of *Vidya Vikas RVNL e-Granthalaya* by Dr.M. V. Natesan, Independent Directorand the launch of an in-house collaborative cloud-based platform named *GRAFiCS* by Shri Sreenivasa Murthy Rangaiah, Independent Director.
- Subsequently, RVNL’s e-Corporate Profile* was unveiled by Shri Rajesh Argal, Govt. Nominee Directorand Addl Member, Planning, Railway Board and Govt. Nominee Director.
- All the Directors expressed their faith in the Company’s professional capabilities and ability to execute projects that contribute to nation building and socio-economic growth.
- Wrapping up the event with the RVNL’s recent milestone achievements and records, The Chairman & Managing Director, RVNL Shri Pradeep Gaur highlighted on RVNL’s strengths and tenacity of teams to navigate the pandemic times through resilient plans.
- He expressed his firm belief in the capabilities of RVNL teams and reiterated RVNL’s commitment to contribute to the Railways growth plans for smoother operations and to strengthening Railways pre-eminence in both passenger and freight transportation segments.
The list of publications/ digital initiatives inaugurated are as under:
- This commissioning of Railway electrification from New Bongaigaon to Guwahati covering 375 Route KM was commissioned within 10 months of calendar year 2021 by RVNL which included the difficult period of the 2nd COVID wave.
- This is an extremely significant step in Mission100% Electrification and Development of North East Policy of the Govt. of India.
- And also significant in that this RE project will way for accelerated electrification of balance routes in the region and usher in a new age of growth and development.
- A book titled “Electric Traction for Growth of Northeast” was compiled by RVNL bringing out the technical features and other highlights on an extremely busy rail route.
- The challenges faced by the project teams & innovative ways deployed to surmount these are depicted in detail.
VidyaVikas:
- RVNL e-Granthalaya & Collaborative cloud-based platform GRAFiCS.
- To promote and achieve the digital India goal of GOI and incorporation of IT technology in organization, RVNL has developed two systems namely GRAFiCS (Global RVNL Assets & File Collaboration Solution) and VidyaVikas: RVNL e-Granthalaya, for its employees and partner organizations.
- Both these applications are conveniently accessible 24*7 from any kind of devices -PC,Tablet, Mobile phones (be they Android or iPhone).
