Shri Rajiv Dhankher appointed as new Director (Projects & Planning) at Delhi Metro Rail Corporation

Shri Rajiv Dhankher has assumed charge as the new Director (Projects & Planning) of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). He is an IRSE officer of the 1992 batch with three decades of experience in project, planning and execution at numerous key positions.

In a significant order to bring immense skills in project planning and execution, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has appointed Shri Rajiv Dhankher to the post of new Director (Projects & Planning). With over three decades of experience, Shri Dhankher, an Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE) officer from the 1992 batch, brings extensive expertise in project planning and execution to this pivotal role. Throughout his distinguished career, he has held numerous key positions, showcasing his exceptional leadership and commitment to excellence.

Education and Experience:

  • He is a Bachelor of Technology from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur and a Masters of Technology from IIT, Delhi.
  • Shri Dhankher also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from  MDI, Gurugram, and an LLB from Delhi University. 
  • Prior to taking up this role in DMRC, he was DRM in the Ajmer Division of Indian Railways.
  • During his tenure, the Udaipur – Himmat Nagar Railway section was commissioned.
  • He has also worked as a Chief Project Manager in NCRTC for the Sahibabad-Ghaziabad-Duhai priority section.
  • Shri Dhankher was also involved in the commissioning of the Jammu-Udhampur rail link project.

With a decent blend of solid academics and diverse experience Shri Rajiv Dhankher brings the required experience and expertise for the Projects & Planning division of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. With his knowledge and experience he is expected to take Delhi Metro, which is one of the fastest growing metro networks to new heights in terms of holistic planning and seamless execution of metro projects.
