Shri Satish Kumar assumes Vital Role as Member (Traction & Rolling Stock) at Railway Board

In a significant development, Shri Satish Kumar, an accomplished member of the 1986 batch of Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers, has taken charge as the Member (Traction & Rolling Stock) on the Railway Board in the Ministry of Railways, effective January 5, 2024.

More Details:

Professional Background: Shri Satish Kumar joined Indian Railways in March, 1988 and has a rich experience of 34 years. Before joining MTRS, Railway Board, he worked as General Manager, North Central Railway, Prayagraj.

His Experience:

  • Earlier, Shri Kumar had worked in Jhansi Division and BLW (Diesel Locomotive Works, Varanasi), NER, Gorakhpur, Patiala Locomotive Works in various capacities.
  • He was trained in Total Quality Management, under UNDP programme in 1996 and has handled many projects in his career.
  • He served as the Divisional Railway Manager of Lucknow Division in Northern Railway from April, 2017 to April, 2019.
  • A large number of infrastructural works were accomplished during his tenure as DRM, Lucknow.
