Situated along the Andal–Sainthia branch line under the Asansol Division, Siuri Railway Station holds pivotal significance as a major railway hub catering to Suri, the district headquarters of Birbhum district in West Bengal. Notably, the station serves as a crucial transit point for pilgrims and travellers journeying to the renowned Bakreshwar Temple and hot springs in Bakreshwar village.
Eastern Railway is delighted to report the rapid advancement of the Redevelopment Project at Siuri station, a part of the prestigious Amrit Bharat Scheme, with an estimated investment of Rs. 3.5 crore. The ambitious project aims to revitalise Siuri station, marrying modern architectural aesthetics with its intrinsic geographical importance seamlessly.
Salient features in the first Phase of the Redevelopment include:
- Enhancement of traffic circulation patterns coupled with the beautification of the circulating area.
- Upgradation of existing facade and elevation, accentuated by modern lighting arrangements.
- Revamping of interiors, including waiting halls, ticket counters, etc., to enhance passenger experience.
- Comprehensive improvement of restroom facilities for enhanced hygiene and convenience.
