The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Railways conducts meeting with Kolkata Metro and various Zonal Railways

Shri Radha Mohan Singh, Chairperson and esteemed members of the Parliamentary Standing Committee of Railways convened a meeting with senior Railway officers in Kolkata including Shri P. Uday Kumar Reddy, General Manager of Metro Railway, Shri Amar Prakash Reddy, General Manager, Eastern Railway, Shri Anil Kumar Mishra General Manager, South Eastern Railway, Shri Yatish Kumar, Chairman and Managing Director, Braithwaite and Company Limited.

  • Members of the Parliamentary Standing Committee o­n Railways actively contributed valuable suggestions and advice aimed at enhancing Railway Services. Members of the Committee have also expressed their willingness to support Railway’s efforts for the sake of ensuring more convenience for commuters.

  • Shri Reddy provided a comprehensive overview  to the Chairperson & members of Parliamentary Standing Committee about the various initiatives undertaken by the Metro Railway Authority to augment passenger amenities. Shri Reddy also assured that all suggestions received from Hon’ble members will be adequately looked into and necessary course of action will be taken accordingly.

Shri Mukesh Rajput, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), Shri Ramesh Chandra Kaushik, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), Shri Gopal Jee Thakur, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), Shri Sumedhanand Sarwaswati, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), Shri Narhari Amin, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), Dr. Prashanta Nanda, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), Dr. Sumer Singh Solanki, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) was also present in the meeting.

Shri P. Uday Kumar Reddy, General Manager, Metro Railway also felicitated the members of the Standing Committee. Officers of Lok Sabha Secretariat, Principal Heads of the Departments Metro Railway, Eastern Railway, South Eastern Railway and other officers were present in the meeting.

The collaborative meeting between the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Railways and key railway officials in Kolkata served as a platform for constructive discussions and exchange of ideas. The shared commitment to improving rail services for commuters indicates a positive step towards the continual enhancement of the railway infrastructure. The engagement concluded with a sense of shared purpose and dedication to advancing the nation’s rail transport sector.
