Financial bids for Tender Package C-6 for the design and construction of 88 km (approx.) length of the viaduct between Vadodara and Ahmedabad in Gujarat including the construction of Anand/Nadiad Station for Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail corridor (508 km) were opened on 2nd November,2020 and Larsen & Toubro Ltd is the lowest bidder.
Total of three bidders involving 7 (seven) major Indian infrastructural companies had participated in the competitive bidding, and other bidders were:

The technical bids for this tender were opened on 25th September 2020.

NHSRCL has already awarded work for 237 km of the viaduct between Vapi and Vadodara in Gujarat including 4 elevated HSR stations namely Vapi, Billimora, Surat and Bharuch and one Train depot at Surat to M/s Larsen & Toubro Ltd.
- This is the biggest EPC contract awarded in the country to date and is the first of its kind project with a mandate to construct the 237.1 km stretch MAHSR – C4 package.
- The approximately 508 km Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail project will cover 155.76 kms in the State of Maharashtra, 4.3 kms in the Union Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and 348.04 kms in the State of Gujarat with 12 stations along the route.
- Package C4 represents 46.6% of the total length making it longest amongst all the packages, running elevated from Zaroli Village on the Maharashtra – Gujarat border to Vadodara Station through 4 stations at Vapi, Bilimora, Surat and Bharuch in Gujarat.
- This entire section is in Gujarat State where more than 83% of the land has been acquired for the project.
- The MAHSR project alone will create more than 90,000 direct and indirect jobs during construction of the project.
- Not just the employment market but production and manufacturing market are also expected to gain with the project.
- It is estimated that close to 75 lakh MT of cement, 21 lakh MT of steel, and 1.4 lakh MT of structural steel will be used in the construction and all of which shall be produced in India.
- In addition to this, large construction machinery is another market that will gain big time through the project.
