General:
- BMRCL is proceeding with the implementation of Phase-2 of the project. The sanctioned Detailed Project Report (DPR) of Phase-2 envisages extension of existing two corridors viz. East-West (Purple line) and North-South (Green Line) Corridors comprising elevated sections and construction of two new lines Reach-5 and Reach-6.

- Two more new lines under Phase-2A and Phase-2B are being constructed and BMRCL is proceeding with the implementation of the same. The sanctioned Detailed Project Report (DPR) of Phase-2A (ORR Line) Phase-2B (Airport Line) envisages two new corridors viz. Central Silk Board junction to KR Puram (ORR line) & K R Puram to KIA Terminal (Airport line) comprising Elevated sections. The mode of traction power proposed is 750V DC Third Rail bottom collection. The track is of Standard Gauge (1435 mm).
The details of new lines (i.e. Phase-2A and Phase-2B), on which this Contract has to be executed, are as under:

- Interchange Stations of different lines:
- The common interchange station between Reach-6 line and Phase-2B line is at Nagavara station.
- The common interchange station between Phase-2,4 and Reach-5 is at Central Silk Board station.
- The common interchange station between Phase-2A and Line-1 is at KR Puram Station.
- Maintenance Depots are located at Baiyappanahalli for Phase-2A & Phase-2B and Airport Depot for Phase-2B. An Integrated Operation Control Centre (OCC) is being constructed at Baiyappanahalli for Reach-5, Reach-6, Phase-2A (ORR) & Phase-2B (Airport line) and a Back-up Control Centre (BCC) is located at Peenya.
Scope of Works:
- Engineering, Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of 33 kV switchgear with associated works at 66/33 kV Receiving Substations.
- Engineering, Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of 33 kV MV Cable network connecting various ASSs /TSSs.
- Engineering, Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of 33 kV/ 415 V Auxiliary Substation equipment at Stations, wayside TSS/ASS and Depot TSS/ASS.
- Engineering, Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of 33 kV AC / 750 V DC Traction Substation equipment at Stations, wayside TSS and Depot TSS.
- Engineering, Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of Inverter equipment at specified Traction Substation at Stations, wayside TSS and Depot TSS.
- Engineering, Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of DC Cable and cable connections from TSS to Third Rail.
- Engineering, Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of DC negative Cables and cable connections from running rails to TSS, rail bonds.
- Design, Engineering, Supply, Erection supervision, Testing and Commissioning of Third Rail system operating at 750 V DC for feeding power to Rolling Stock on mainlines, link lines and depots.
- Engineering, Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of Stinger System operating at 750 V DC for feeding power to Rolling Stock in workshops.
- Engineering, Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of Control & Monitoring equipment for traction and auxiliary power supply, and necessary interface with OCC (Operation Control Centre) and BCC (Backup Control Centre).
- Engineering, Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of Stray Current Monitoring System (SCMS) at OCC for Phase-2A & 2B new corridors.
- Engineering, Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of parallel return feeder in Phase-2A & 2B Corridors.
- Engineering, Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of ETS system.
- Engineering, Provision of Earthing Systems Bonding & Stray current management including SEC.
- Supply of Contract and DLP spares, tools, equipment, Training, Operation and maintenance manual and other documentation; and
- Other Scope of works as detailed in Employers Requirement Technical Specification (ERTS), Drawings and other Tender documents.
- 33kV Power Supply Ring Main: 66kV power supply will be stepped down to 33 kV level at the RSSs of BMRCL. A 33kV power supply drawn from RSSs of each corridor will be distributed along the alignment through a 33kV ring main cable network for feeding to traction and auxiliary loads. These cables will be laid in along the viaduct.
- Traction Power Supply: 750V DC Third Rail bottom current collection is envisaged for Traction Power Supply from reliability and safety considerations with use of Aluminium and steel composite third rail on main lines and in Depots. Traction Substations (33kV/750 V DC) are required to be set up for feeding 750 V DC power supply to the third rail. It is envisaged to provide indoor type Traction Substations (TSSs) as per the power feeding arrangement. The location of TSSs has been validated by DDC (Traction Power Supply) through Traction Simulation Studies. Self-cooled cast resin dry type rectifier transformers are proposed keeping in view the indoor TSSs.
- Auxiliary Power Supply: The Auxiliary Substations (ASSs) are proposed to be indoor type, with dry type cast resin transformers (33/0.415 kV) to be installed at all the elevated stations (Including wayside) and in Depots as well. At elevated stations generally there will be ASS with 2 x 500 kVA and wayside substations it is 2×200 kVA, in UG stations it is 2×2000 kVA and in depots one ASS with 2×2000 kVA dry type cast resin power transformers. At elevated stations where the commercial loads are envisaged, the higher capacity auxiliary transformers may be provided.
Eligibility:
- The Tenderer participating in his individual capacity shall have the following capabilities and experience. In case of JV/Consortium the members shall collectively have the following capabilities and experience:
- Engineering, Supplying, Erecting, Installing, Testing and Commissioning:
- Traction Substation of 600 V DC and above.
- ASSs (Auxiliary Substation) of 33/0.415 kV with defined sizes of auxiliary transformers.
- 33 kV Medium Voltage (MV) cable distribution network.
- Detailed Designing, Engineering, Supplying, Erecting/Installing, Testing and Commissioning of 600 V and above. DC Third Rail System in Main Line & Depots including Stinger System at Depots Inspection Bay Lines.
- Engineering, Supplying, Erecting/installing, Testing and Commissioning SCADA System and Digital Protection Control System.
Work Experience:
- Engineering, Supplying, Erecting/Installing, Testing and Commissioning of at least 12 numbers of Traction Substations of 600V and above DC Traction System for Elevated/At grade/Underground sections of Metro Rail or Suburban Rail or Main Line Railway System or Mono Rail in one or more Contracts (not more than three (3) Contracts).
