IRCON invites bids balance work of extension of Underground Substations in Tunnel for Katra-Banihal section of USBRL Project

IRCON International Limited on behalf of Northern Railway has invited online bids in two packet systems on prescribed forms from bonafide firms/companies having requisite experience and financial capacity for execution of the work detailed in the given below.

Scope of Work: 

The scope of work includes the following:

  • Extension of Underground Substation (USS1, USS2 & USS3) in Tunnel T-74R includes the work of Cutting and removal of concrete lining and disposal, Underground mining Excavation, Primary support, Final concrete lining with Water proofing membrane and Geo textile, 2nd stage concrete etc. as a complete job as per approved drawings and technical specification’s as directed by Engineer in charge.
  • Submission of methodology and Quality Assurance (QA) plan as per drawing for approval of IRCON/NR.
  • Making all necessary arrangements for lining work like shuttering/Gantry, material manpower, etc.
  • All safety provisions for working in tunnels is to be followed as per safety plan. To ensure proper supervision of work to achieve desired Quality and safety at site is the responsibility of the Agency.
  • Day to day inspection of work in progress, QA tests being carried out by the contractor in line with the QA plan. Approval of material for construction
  • Preparation and submission of monthly review report / progress review report.
  • Contractor is required to submit a method statement for execution of work to IRCON.
  • Preparation and submission of progress review report, adequacy of mobilization of resources by the Agency.

The work mainly involves:-

  • USS1: The existing size of USS1 is 16 m x 7m and it is completed with lining. As per the requirement of the Electrical section, the revised size of USS1 is 23 m x 7m and hence 7m x7m has to be extended (The revised drawing of USS 1 is enclosed). This work involves Cutting and removal of concrete lining and disposal, Underground mining Excavation, Primary support, Final concrete lining with Waterproofing membrane and Geo textile, 2 nd stage concrete etc.
  • USS2: The existing size of USS2 is 16 m x 7m and it is completed with lining. As per the requirement of the Electrical section, the revised size of USS2 is 30 m x 7m and hence 14m x7m has to be extended (The revised drawing of USS 2 is enclosed). This work involves Cutting and removal of concrete lining and disposal, Underground mining Excavation, Primary support, Final concrete lining with Waterproofing membrane and Geo textile, 2 nd stage concrete etc.
  • USS3: The existing size of USS3 is 16 m x 7m and the primary support is completed and lining is pending. As per the requirement of the Electrical section, the revised size of USS2 is 23 m x 7m and hence 7m x7m has to be extended (The revised drawing of USS 3 is enclosed). This work involves Underground mining Excavation, Primary support, Final concrete lining with Water proofing membrane and Geo textile, 2 nd stage concrete etc.
  • The Lay out plan showing the proposed extension of USS1, USS2 & USS3 is enclosed.
  • There are 4 Schedules and consists of Schedule A (Excavation – Open/Underground), Schedule B1 Consists of Rock Bolts and Other Steel Supports etc., Schedule B2 (Shotcrete and Concrete Works), Schedule C (Drainage and Miscellaneous works)

Site Location:

The subject work is to be carried out in Tunnel T-74R from Banihal to Khari.
