IRCON invites bids for Execution of balance outdoor works for Hajipur-Bachhwara section of EC Railway

IRCON International Limited has invited online bids in two Packet Systems on prescribed forms from bonafied firms/companies having requisite experience and financial capacity for execution of the work detailed in the table below.

Scope of Work:

The scope of work will include but not limited to “Execution of balance outdoor work of OFC and 6-Quad cable based communication system in Hajipur-Bachhwara section of EC Railway in connection with Doubling work of Hajipur-Bachhwara section” as per Bill of Quantities, Technical Specifications, Drawings (RDSO/ECFt/CORE, Allahabad), etc. within the delivery period.

  • The scope of work shall also include any and all work, supplies and services for construction and completion of all works as described in Bill of Quantities and Technical specifications.
  • Major activities are given as under:
    • Excavation of Trench, Duct & Cable laying & backfilling, OFC blowing, jointing, splicing, Testing and Termination of underground signalling, OFC and Quad Cables including termination, testing & all protective works.
    • Design & drawings and preparation of cable route plan, cable core plan, bonding plan, cable termination plan, wiring diagram of various circuits etc. in connection with outdoor and indoor work (for LC gate) as per extant practice of East Central Railway.
    • All transportation, handling, stacking materials, watching protection of the listed material from the manufacturers works to the site for use. This also includes transportation of Signaling, Quad & OFC cables and other required materials from Store depot or any other suitable location to site of use.
    • Attending the fault if any and rectify the fault within reasonable time. 
    • Any other work required for completion of the work under this contract as per direction of Engineer-in-charge.
  • The Contractor shall also execute all such works which, in the opinion of the Employer, are required to be executed for the successful completion of the work. All such works shall be deemed to have been included in the original scope of the tender.
  • Contractor shall obtain necessary clearance for his staff/agents from in charge of Railway/IRCON. 
  • Submission of the all released/waste/scrap materials to the concerned Railway/IRCON store obtained during the execution works with proper handing over certificate.
  • The Contractor’s scope of work shall include, but not limited to execution of world contract, adequate safety arrangements for men, machinery etc. engaged during the execution of the Contract.
  • Safety is the responsibility of the Contractor and his staff / employees/ workmen engaged/ deployed for execution of work under the Contract, individually and collectively. For this purpose, the Contractor staff means and includes all his associates and sub-contractors / vendors/ sub-vendors and their staff/ employees/ workmen deployed for execution of the work covered under the contract. The Contractor shall ensure that his workmen participate in the safety awareness, health care and safety training programs whenever such programs are organized by the Employer or the Contractor.
  • While executing the Contract, the Contractor / his supervisor has to ensure safety of the surroundings with regards to Employer’s work place/ site and other contractor’s men/machine/ materials/ system etc.
  • Since the existing work is of joint work in which completion of the work depends upon the progress of Engineering Department. However, the completion period of the work is 4 months from the date of issue of letter of acceptance; the contractor should mentally prepare to mobilize manpower and materials including drawings etc. to complete the work within stipulated joint target of Engineering and S&T.
  • In case of any ambiguity or clarification regarding activities to be executed under scope of work, decision of Employer shall be final and binding on the contractor/firm.
