Kolkata Metro update: Bids invited for Track works for elevated viaduct portion from Nicco Park to Titumir

Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has invited bids under single stage two packet system for the work of “Construction of Double Line Ballast Less Track ( BLT) for Elevated Viaduct Portion Between Nicco Park Having Ch. (13841.585 M) to Titumir Ch. (25891.527 M) including Points and Crossings, etc. In Connection with Construction of Metro Railway Corridor from New Garia to Airport Corridor, in the City of Kolkata”.

Scope of Work:

This work pertains to “Construction Of Double Line Ballast Less Track (BLT) For Elevated Viaduct Portion Between Nicco Park Having Ch. (13841.585 M) To Titumir Ch.(25891.527 M) Including Points And Crossings, etc. In Connection With Construction Of Metro Railway Corridor From New Garia To Airport Corridor, In The City Of Kolkata”. Proposed work consists of construction of double line ballast less track over Elevated viaduct for a length of approximate 12.875 km.

• Out of total12.875 KM length of BLT (Viaduct + Station portion), about 9.88 Km of Viaduct & 3 Stations are ready for immediate laying of BLT. Available ready locations of viaduct stretches are given below:

• 6.0 (Six) Route Km of BLT works out of the above available location (viaduct & station) to be completed in 12 months. For the balance stretches of viaduct between chainage 15415.509M (P428) to 17020.00M (CP481) and construction work (except Technopolis station from chainage16260.739M to 16440.739M) are already in progress through different contracts. 
• Balance site of work (approximately 2988 M) would be provided in phases after completion of initial 12 months as and when it is ready for laying of BLT work. 
• Participating bidder(s) has to consider this aspect while quoting their offer. Planning for completion of the work to be synchronized according to the site available/handed over to the construction contractor. 
• Nothing extra shall be paid over and above the accepted rate of BOQ items for repeated demobilization/re-mobilization of plants, equipment, all kind of resources etc. to complete the entire BLT work from chainage 13841.585 M to 25891.527 M in peace meal/ stretches.
