Rail Board member Anil Kumar Khandelwal inspects Somanayakkanpatti-Bengaluru section

Shri Anil Kumar Khandelwal, Member (Infra) of the Railway Board, conducted a rear window inspection of the Somanayakkanpatti-Bengaluru section. Alongside him, Shri Arvind Srivastava, General Manager of South Western Railway (SWR), reviewed the KSR Bengaluru Station and the ongoing redevelopment works at the Bengaluru Cantonment railway station. This inspection aimed to assess progress and ensure the upgrades meet current infrastructure standards.

Shri Anil Kumar Khandelwal Member (Infra) Railway Board conducted a rear window inspection of Somanayakkanpatti – Bengaluru section of Bengaluru Division on 20th April, 2024. Shri Yogesh Mohan, Divisional Railway Manager and other senior officers of Bengaluru Division were present during the inspection.

He also inspected the o­ngoing redevelopment works of Whitefield, Bengaluru Cantonment and Yesvantpur Railway Stations. He discussed various issues related to o­ngoing re-development work of these stations with SWR officials.

Inspection by GM of South Western Railway:

  • Shri Arvind Srivastava, General Manager, South Western Railway inspected the KSR Bengaluru Railway Station on (20.04.2024). He inspected the existing amenities for passengers and held discussions with the divisional authorities to explore strategies for the station’s future redevelopment.

  • He focused o­n various aspects during his inspection like the condition of platforms, tracks, buildings, and other structures to ensure safety standards, cleanliness of the station premises, including platforms, waiting areas, restrooms, and surrounding areas, passengers facilities etc. during his course of inspection.

  • Later he inspected the o­ngoing re-development works of Bengaluru Cantonment Railway Station. Bengaluru Cantonment and Yesvantpur railway stations are undergoing a major upgradation of SWR network which are the substantive makeover in order to cater to the increased transportation needs of the silicon city.
