Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has entered into a Strategic Partnership Agreement for the Railway Signalling Business with M/s HIMA Middle East FZE, Dubai (A wholly owned subsidiary of HIMA Paul Hildebrandt GmbH, Germany).
HIMA Expertise:
- HIMA is the world’s leading solution provider for safety-related automation in the railways and process industries.
BHEL Expertise:
- BHEL has been supplying Locomotives, Electrics for EMU/MEMU, Propulsion Systems, Traction Motors, Traction Alternators, Traction Transformers, etc. to Indian Railways. The partnership with HIMA will further enhance BHEL’s offerings to Indian Railways.
Previous Achievement of BHEL:
BHEL-TWL (BHEL-Titagarh Wagons Limited) consortium has been awarded an order for 80 Vande Bharat Trains in one of the biggest Railway tenders for manufacturing-cum-maintenance of Vande Bharat Trains.
The order value comprises supply of train sets for Rs.9,600 Crore and balance for maintenance of the same for a period of 35 years. This order is a major milestone in the company’s diversification drive.
The consortium shall manufacture, test, commission and supply 80 energy efficient Vande Bharat Trains at their manufacturing facilities and at Indian Railways’ ICF-Chennai facility. The trains shall have design/operating speed of 176/160 kmph (semi-high speed).
This strategic partnership marks a significant step in BHEL’s ongoing diversification and enhancement of its railway solutions, aiming to deliver more technologically advanced and safety-oriented railway systems in India.
