Patna Metro Update: Interchange metro stations to facilitate with hassle free commuting for the convenience of the passengers

Patna Metro Rail Project is committed to provide its passengers Hassle-free commuting. Accordingly, Interchange metro stations have been planned which would be connected with other existing Bus and Railways Terminals and metro stations.

More Details:

  • Passengers will be able to change from one line to another line of the metro at these interchange stations. There will be two interchange stations in Patna Metro which has been proposed for both the Corridors I and II.
  • The typical interchange stations Khemni Chak is elevated station where Patna Station is underground interchange stations.

Facilities to passengers:

  • Passengers coming from Danapur, Sagunamore, Bailey Road, if they want to travel towards Frazer Road, Gandhi Maidan, PMCH, PU and vise -versa can change metro at Patna station. They can change the metro from line one to line two without coming out of the station.
  • Likewise, passengers coming from Ramkrishna Nagar, Mithapur want to travel towards Frazer Road, Gandhi Maidan, PMCH, PU or Gulzarbagh and vise -versa can change the metro at Patna station. They can change the metro from line one to line two without leaving the station.
  • Accordingly, passengers coming from Ramkrishna Nagar, Mithapur, who want to travel towards PMCH, PU and vise -versa can change metro at Khemnichak in the elevated section.
  • Passengers coming from ISBT, zero mile, Bhoothnath, if they want to travel towards Ramkrishna Nagar, Mithapur and vise -versa, can change metro at Khemnichak. They can change the metro from line Two to line one without leaving the station.
  • New Patliputra Bus Terminal is an Interstate Bus Terminal where passengers coming from various parts of the state can take Metro from ISBT metro station. Likewise, passengers coming by railways can take the metro from Patna station. 

These Interchange stations will have:

  • Pedestrian facilities with proper pedestrian subways and foot over bridges. 
  • They will have adequate traffic dispersal facilities. 
  • Demarcated Parking and Pick and Drop areas.
  • The intermodal integration facilities
  • It is to be noted that an interchange station is done for more than one line in a public transport system that allows passengers to change from one line to another, often without having to leave a station or pay an additional fare.
