RVNL secures Rs. 191 crore civil and electrical work contract from South Eastern Railway

Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has clinched a significant contract worth approximately INR 191 crore from South Eastern Railway. This project includes civil and electrical works on the Rajkhaswan-Nayagarh-Bolani section of Chakradharpur division, marking a significant step in enhancing the region’s railway infrastructure.

Tender Details:

  • Tender Number: SER-PSI-RKSN-NYG-2X25KV
  • Name of Work: Design, supply, erection, testing & commissioning of 132 KV traction substation, Sectioning Post (SPs), and Sub Sectioning Post (SSPs) in 2x25KV system on Rajkhaswan-Nayagarh-Bolani section of Chakradharpur division of South Eastern Railway to meet 3000MT loading target on EPC mode.
  • Accepted Contract Amount: INR 191,53,74,279.51/-
  • Completion Period: 18 Months

Scope of Work under the Contract:

  • The scope of work of this project involves switching over to the 2×25 KV AT feeding system of the Railway Electrification system from the existing 1X25 kV AC system.
  • Electrical works shall include modifications/augmentations in PSI for Triple Line feeder lines, Traction Substations (TSS), Sectioning Posts (SP), Sub Sectioning and Paralleling Posts (SSP), Power Supply Augmentation, Transmission Lines, provision of SCADA, Tools & Plants etc.
  • Suitable types of foundations based on the latest design of RDSO will be required.
  • General supply diagrams and plans to be prepared based on the requirement of CKP division of South Eastern Railway and laid down norms. 03 No. Traction substations i.e. Banspani , Barajamda & Kendposi (all with Scott type connected Transformer) have been proposed for this section.
  • Modification of EHT overhead crossings, lines owned by State Electricity Boards having voltage equal to and higher than 132 kV & HT/LV crossings, lines of 33 kV and below will not be in the scope of EPC contract.
  • 25KV/240V single-phase (5/10/25/SOKVA) ATs connected to the OHE will be required to be provided for giving LT power supply to Switching Stations, Traction substations, Railway stations and LC Gates etc.
  • All General Services works including wiring (i.e. TSS, SP & SSP control building and yard lightning) with Sch B will be required to be carried out by the contractor.
  • The Electrical details are furnished at respective places in the draft agreement to RFP.

Civil Engineering:

The civil engineering details ( i.e. TSS, SP & SSP control room, approach road, tube well, baffle wall, cross track from main gate to transformer plinth, approach road etc. along with associated civil engineering works) and requirements are furnished at respective places in the draft EPC agreement document.

Conclusion:

The award of the said contract to RVNL highlights the leading role that RVNL is playing in terms of achieving the ambitious electrification goals of Indian Railways and will further boost the electrification works being carried out across India especially in the South eastern zone of Indian Railways.
