Lucknow Metro Awarded For Adopting ‘Green Initiatives’ At Smart City Summit, Gurugram (Haryana)

Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) has recently been awarded for adopting ‘Green Initiatives’ while implementing Metro Rail Project in the capital city of Uttar Pradesh. The award was given to Shri Mahendra Kumar, Director (Rolling Stock & Systems) by Smt. Madhu Azad, Mayor, Gurugram Municipal Corporation at the ‘Smart City Summit’ organized at Gurugram (Haryana).

All the eight operational Metro stations of Lucknow Metro viz. Transport Nagar, Krishna Nagar, Singar Nagar, Alambagh, Alambagh Bus Stand, Mawaiya, Durgapuri and Charbagh are ‘Platinum’ certified green buildings.

The Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) – one of the apex body in India to rate and certify a system as a ‘Green’ system – had certified LMRC a “Green Metro Rail System”, thereby, awarding platinum certificate to all its eight Metro stations on the ‘Priority Corridor’ from Transport Nagar to Charbagh on 31st August, 2017.
