
The National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), the executing body of the prestigious Bullet Train project has initiated construction activities in Palghar & Thane district (Package C-3).

Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail (MAHSR) Project is 508 Km long first High-Speed Rail (HSR) network planned to be constructed in India. Out of 508Km, 352 Km lies in the State of Gujarat (348 Km) and Dadra & Nagar Haveli (4Km) and the balance 156 Km lies in the State of Maharashtra.

Here is some brief information about recent works:
- Total length of Mainline: 135.45 Km (Between Shilphata & Zaroli village on Maharashtra – Gujarat Border)
- Viaduct & Bridges: 124.027 km
- Earth Structure: 5.361 km
- Bridges & Crossings: 36 Nos. including 12 steel bridges
- Stations: 3 nos. namely Thane, Virar & Boisar
- Mountain tunnels: 6 nos. & 1 no. cut & cover tunnel
- Main River Bridges: Ulhas River, Vaitarna & Jagani

Current status of work:
- Geotechnical investigation for the complete 135 km is nearing completion with major locations like Vaitarna River, Virar & Boisar bullet train station already completed
- Work on two of the mountain tunnels has also commenced in this region
- Pier foundation work has commenced at multiple locations
- Casting yards are being developed for full span and segment casting of girders
