Chennai Metro Update: Tenders invited for supply of Automatic Electronic Rail Lubrication Machine

The Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has invited online open tender (through e-procurement) from reputed and experienced E&M agencies through National Competitive Bidding (NCB) under Single stage two envelope system with initial filter (Technical & Financial) for the works as detailed below:

Scope of Work: 

System should be able to work under following service conditions:

  • Rail temperature – (-) 10°C to (+) 70 o C
  • Ambient temperature – 20 ̊C to 50 ̊C
  • Humidity – 40-100%
  • Atmospheric condition- Very dusty
    • Chennai metro rail network, the electrified traction consists of overhead electric system of 25KV AC with residual return current passing through one of the rails in the track. The voltage for track circuits for signaling purpose is passes through the other rail.
    • The lubricator system should be able to work in above stated electric traction and signaling system and its induction effect.
    • The lubricator system should be such that it does not affect existing signaling system on track.
    • Supplier should be OEM or Approved by OEM only.
    • Lubrication system shall be equipped with Pressure Gauge, Pressure Relief /Safety Valve, Grease filter for smooth operation and monitoring.
    • Lubrication system shall be No Lubricant wastage – Lubricant is dispensed evenly using a pump to port metering valve that ensures equal volume to port and will result in no wastage and more efficient.
    • The firm should offer proven technology with lubricator and lubricant supplied by them and working satisfactorily in any reputed Metro Railway/Railway system of the world of similar environment prevailing in India. Certificate in this regard from relevant Metro Railway/Railway system shall be furnished.

System Description: 

  • The application system must be proven system and should be functional in all climatic conditions in Chennai.
  • The application system should consist of a rail-mounted wheel sensor, a control box, an AC to DC converter, a motor, a pump, a tank with a cover and a material distribution system of hoses and applicators attached to the rails.
  • The whole system should be compatible with the lubricant as defined as below:
  • BOX design without solar system most preparable.
    • Dimension of
      • o Lenth-1000mm approximately
      • o Breadth-500mm (Maximum)
      • o Width-350mm (Maximum)
    • Hydraulic Pressure-up to 350 Bar.
    • Electrical Protection-Capable of working on single phase 220VAC with fluctuation of 180-260V.
    • Vehicle Detection System-Electrical.
    • Minimum Greasing Drum Capacity- 18 ltrs.
