IRCON invites bids for Track Linking activities with Mechanized track laying between Vangaon to Vaitarana for DFC project

IRCON International Limited, a Government of India Undertaking of Ministry of Railways, has invited bid on prescribed form for CTP-12 for “Track Linking activities with Mechanized track laying works with assembly, Laying and Linking of BG (1676 mm gauge) main line double track with 60 Kg HH Rails on PSC Sleepers, spreading of IRCON’s Ballast, carrying out level crossing works, assembly and insertion of turnouts, Track survey works for Dedicated Freight Corridor Project CTP-12 – Section between DFC Ch: 140+000 to DFC Ch. 101+558 (Vangaon to Vaitarana) in the state of Maharashtra (Total Length 60 TKM)”.

  • Express Freight Consortium (Consisting of Mitsui & Co., IRCON International Limited & TATA Projects Ltd) have been awarded the work “Design and Construction of Civil, Building and Track Works for double line Railway involving formation in embankments/ cuttings, bridges, structures (excluding civil works for 50 bridges already under execution and 02 bridges across rivers Damanganga and Par and formations in embankments/cuttings and structures in their approaches on both sides), buildings, ballast on formation, track works (including track works on 50 bridges already under execution and on 02 bridges across rivers Damanganga and Par and on formations in embankments/ cuttings and on structures in their approaches on both sides) including Testing and Commissioning on Design-Build Lump sum Price Basis for Vaitarana-Sachin section of Western Dedicated Freight Corridor phase-II (CTP-12)”, (hereinafter referred to as CTP-12) by Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation India Limited (DFCCIL). 
  • It has been decided that Ircon International Limited shall execute the work for CTP-12 on behalf of the consortium.

Scope of Work: 

The scope of present tender for the work is as “Track Linking activities with Mechanized track laying works with assembly, Laying and Linking of BG (1676 mm gauge) main line double track with 60 Kg HH Rails on PSC Sleepers, spreading of Ircon’s Ballast, carrying out level crossing works, assembly and insertion of turnouts, Track survey works for Dedicated Freight Corridor Project CTP-12 – Section between DFC Ch: 140+000 to DFC Ch. 101+558 (Vangaon to Vaitarana) in the state of Maharashtra (Total Length 60 TKM)”.

  • The locations of above features are approximate and may differ during the actual construction stage as per site conditions and contractor has to work accordingly.
  • The work is to be carried out considering DFC guidelines and specifications.
  • The site also includes utility which are being removed by IRCON.
  • Work is to be carried out as per the approved drawings, specifications and instructions of the Client Representative from Vangaon to Vaitarana. 
  • Items of works to be executed shall be generally as per the BOQ/ Schedule of the contract, DFCCIL Specifications and as per instructions of the Client Representative. The contractor must carefully make their detailed planning so as to ensure uninterrupted working during the monsoon season also.

The broad activities of work are as below but not limited to:

  • Loading, Leading, Unloading & spreading of track ballast with contractor’s Machineries.
  • Mechanized Linking of track with 25 meter /13 meter long rails ( Rails provided by IRCON) with the help of contractor’s Portal Gantry/ EOT/Hydra Cranes.
  • Track linking using applicators including spacing of sleepers as per DFC requirements.
  • Survey Works including pre survey for bottom ballasting, track linking, level and alignment Laying and Assembly of 1in 12, 1in 8.5 (Thick web switches and weldable CMS crossing), Trap Point, Switch Expansion joint as per DFC Specification in yards.
  • Unloading of Rail Panels 250m long from BLC rake (provided by IRCON).
  • Replacement of 13 meter Rail panel already laid with 250 meter long Rail panel.
  • Transportation of PSC Sleepers & P Way material from Depot /Mid-section to track laying site.
  • Transportation of 25 meter /13meter long rails from Depot /Mid-section to working site .
  • Ancillary works for Conversion of 250m long LWR into CWR by using IRCON’s Flash Butt Machine on Track.
  • Removal & Insertion of PSC Sleepers in track as per requirement Execution of any other item required to complete the works under various chapters of USSOR 2019.
  • Any other item of work as may be required for completing the scope of works including all incidental works in all respects in accordance with the provisions of the contract.

Others – General:

Cost of complying site safety, safety gears for all personnel engaged for execution of work (No personal will be permitted to work without safety gears and identity card), health, Social welfare and environmental requirements or any other requirements/ compliance specified in the tender documents.

  • All aspects of quality control and quality assurance of Works including documentation.
  • Providing measures for prevention / mitigation of environmental impacts due to construction Activities.
  • All works to be executed complying to SHE ( Safety Health & Environment) Requirements as mentioned in client’s Agreement with employer.
  • Handing over of the works on completion after due site clearance to engineer/ employer.
  • Submission of data for As built drawings and other related documents.
  • Rectification of the defects in the completed works during the defect liability period.
  • Security of the linked track will be in the scope of agency till track handing over to
  • IRCON/Client. Any deficient fittings shall be recouped by agency at their cost.
