Scope of Work:

• The scope of work under this contract to be carried out by the freight forwarder shall consist of “Engagement of Freight Forwarder for Road transportation, Ocean Freighting and Export (CIF basis) of One (01) Power pack of Locomotive ex. BLW, Varanasi and One (01) set of Jacks ex. M/s NAVYUG Industries, Noida through Mumbai Sea Port to Beira Sea Port, Mozambique.”
• Detailed scope of work and the terms & conditions for execution of the work are given in the following paras. It may be noted that the work elements as given below are purely indicative. 
• The scope of work shall include all work elements required for successful execution of the contract. 
• Further, all arrangements of equipment including road trailers, lifting tackles, spreaders & lifting beams, welding equipment, materials such as lashing / covering materials etc. as also the manpower for the same. Any non-specific item, which is necessary for satisfactory completion of the work, but not specified here, shall be deemed to be included in the scope of work at the Contractor’s cost. Scope of work, would include but would not be limited to the following: –
  • Receiving, handling, loading, securing, lashing, covering and Road Transportation of Power Pack ex. BLW, Varanasi and Jacks ex. Noida to Mumbai Sea port including, but not limited to the following: –
    • Power pack would be handed over to the Freight Forwarder at BLW, Varanasi and Jacks at M/s NAVYUG Industries, Noida.
    • Arrangement and placement of suitable Trailers at the designated location at BLW and Noida would be carried out by the Freight Forwarder.
    • Loading of Power Pack and Jacks on Trailers shall be done by Workshop and manufacture. However, arrangement of 01 No Adaptor (As per attached drawing) would be the responsibility of Freight forwarder for loading of Power pack at Mumbai Sea port and Beira Sea port. Adaptor would be the shipped along with power pack to Beira, Mozambique.
    • Lifting arrangement (approx 01 Tonne, shall be provided by BLW, Varanasi) would be transported along with Power pack from BLW, Varanasi to Mumbai Sea port for loading of Power pack at Mumbai Sea port. The same would be return back to BLW, Varanasi by Freight forwarder. The return of lifting arrangement to BLW is the responsibility of the freight forwarder.
    • Proper securing, lashing & covering of Power Pack and jacks would be carried out using lashing chains, tarpaulin etc. The Contractor would arrange proper covering of the Power Pack and jacks.
    • Road transportation of the Power Pack and jacks from BLW, Varanasi and Noida to Mumbai Sea Port following all statutory requirements and guidelines of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MORTH) and any other Government body.
    • Unloading of Power Pack and jacks from Road trailers at Mumbai Sea Port including reloading on Road trailers before loading on Ship, if needed.
• Customs clearance of the Power Pack and Jacks at Mumbai Sea port including arranging for customs examination, completion of all paperwork such as filing of shipping bill etc.
  • Customs clearance of Power Pack and Jacks at Mumbai Sea port.
  • 2Arranging for customs examination, completion of all paperwork such as filing of shipping bill etc.
  • Statutory, Port, wharfage, THC, shipping line charges etc. shall be part of the prices quoted by the Contractor. No reimbursement would be made by RITES.
• Ocean Freighting and Export (CIF basis) of Power Pack and jacks to the consignee at Beira Sea Port, Mozambique including, but not limited to the following: –
  • Loading at Mumbai Sea Port and unloading at Beira Sea Port, Mozambique by the Ship’s own crane(s) / Port Cranes / road mobile cranes etc.
  • The Freight Forwarder would be responsible for arranging any services such as derricking, stevedoring etc., materials such as lashing, securing, dunnage, cut wood, chains, saddle, clamps, equipment such as for welding etc. and any manpower, labour etc. required at the Loading / Destination Port.
