Secunderabad-Pune shatabdi express becomes first train to have Vistadome coach over South Central Railway

The Secunderabad-Pune-Secunderabad Shatabdi Express i.e Train No. 12026 / 12025 has been restored for operations with the addition of o­ne Vistadome Coach with effect from 10th August, 2022.

  • This is also the first time that Vistadome dome coach has been introduced o­n any train over South Central Railways. During the first few days of its introduction, the train has witnessed overwhelming response with an average occupancy of 63%.
  • The addition of Vistadome coaches to the Shatabdi Train composition of Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coaches has added attraction to the train service.
  • With its Glass top and Wide Window panel view, passengers can now view the scenic surroundings along their journey as the train traverses through the breath-taking spectacular view of the Ananthagiri Hills along the Vikarabad – Wadi section. Along the journey passengers can also relish the Ujni backwaters and dam near Bhigwan, which is famous for many inland and migratory birds.
  • Apart from having glass roof-top, Vistadome coaches have several additional features like wide window panes, LED lights, Rotatable and Pushback Chairs, Electrically Operated Automatic Sliding Compartment Doors, Wide side sliding doors etc.
  • Last but not the least, these coaches provide a 360-degree view to the passengers. In addition to the rotating seats, these coaches come with an observation lounge.
  • The timings for this train are Train No. 12026 Secunderabad – Pune Shatabdi Express will leave Secunderabad at 14.45 hrs (except Tuesday) and will arrive Pune at 23.10 hrs o­n the same day (except Tuesday). In return direction, Train No. 12025 Pune – Secunderabad Shatabdi Express will leave Pune at 6.00 hrs (except Tuesday) and will arrive Secunderabad at 14.20 hrs same day. These trains will stop enroute at Begumpet, Vikarabad, Tandur, Wadi, Kalaburgi and Solapur railway stations in both the directions.
  • The train consists of o­ne Vistadome Coach, Two Executive Class Coaches and Nine AC Chair Car Coaches. Fares for Secunderabad to Pune in Vistadome Coach is 2110/-, Executive Chair Car Rs. 1935/- with optional additional catering charges of Rs. 385/- while booking. Fare for AC Chair Car is o­n dynamic fare basis starting with Rs. 905/- with optional additional catering charges of Rs.275/- while booking.
